Once Upon a Time (ABC) - 1x02 till the bitter end

A kiss wouldn't dislodge a poisoned chunk of apple stuck in her throat.

A penis would,

Sure.

So could a finger, but why would he stick his finger down her throat?

You're describing the Starz version of the story. :rommie:

Hmm, that's not a bad idea for a Starz series...fairy tales, going back to the original source material.

Snow White's coffin, that we saw in the pilot.

Although I suppose Sleeping Beauty has a coffin out there somewhere too...

Aw, crud -- I read timothy's question too quickly and didn't pay enough attention. :alienblush: Whoops.

It's a children's book (I read as a child, and to children.).

20 minutes tops.

Roald just added a lot of murder, self interest and unhappily ever after to the classic stories.

...

So, Regina came through tot he other side in the Glass Coffin?

Odd then that they built the closet for Emma if the Coffin hadn't been stolen yet, but then, the two vessels were probably attributed to different transit properties.

Not that if Emma wasn't a baby that she would remember anything.

If Snowhite or the Prince had used the closet, they would have been sacked up to fight the curse on hour one of day one and then Emma would have been raised off in fairy tale land...

Regina knows she is the Queen?

If Regina knows that she is the Evil queen, then she must know that henry is not not Emma's child? Unless as I have postulated once or twice that the evil Queen is Snow Whites Great granddaughter, if after the Curse is Broken that Henry is put back in time to his own child hood and not his grave.

Even if if it's just legal bonds and adoption, and not time shmering, that still makes them all family.

Where does all of that come from? I haven't seen even the slightest hint of any of that in the episodes we've seen. I'm not really expecting any Lost style craziness in this, so far everything we've seen has been pretty straightforward and I don't really expect that to change.

She threw Snow whites coffin back into the mine to cover her tracks.

That was either the conscious act of the evil Queen, or the subconscious act of Regina. But in either case she knew that that coffin had to stay buried.

(Regina is like latin for Queen isn't it?)

The Queens father Henry, her butler, was sacrificed and his soul was used to fuel the enchantment. Excess of Henry, or most of henry that was left over after the spell, was used to make the little boy Henry.

He's the son, the father and a ghost.

Emma's son is Regina's Father.

So does Prince Charming actually have a 'real world life'? or is the reason he has no memories because he came over to the real world on the verge of death (I thought he was dead, but whatever) so he's actually the fairy tale version of himself, but he never lived a real world life so he has no actual memories and not amnesia.

The Mayor/Queen is just covering it up.

Yeah it's hard to tell if his life with the blonde is manufactured by the Queen, or if that really is his new "history."

I suspect it's somewhere in the middle, where the curse didn't take complete effect because of his condition, and he's now a bit more aware than the others that "something's not quite right".

Henry is named after the Evil Queen's father because she is trying to recreate some happiness and thereby "win" over Snow White who is left without her Prince Charming. At some point, Regina will be faced with choosing between a burgeoning love for her adoptive son Henry and using him to defeat Rumpelstiltskin/renew the curse.

If Rumpelstiltskin turns out to be the true villain of the piece because Regina has finally achieved a true love, albeit a maternal one, she may sacrifice herself. Or she may try to sacrifice this Henry too. Depends on whether they can make Emma work as Henry's mother (which for my taste isn't so far,) Emma could slay Regina to take Henry. Actually, contract talks with actors will probably have more to do with the outcome. Assuming the show lasts so long.

The dragged out modern day storyline is very feeble and the delays will weaken it even more. Serialized storylines are inherently weak.

after she ate the posion apple she fell into a deep sleep. the dwarves built sleeping beauty a glass coffin and placed her in the woods. where a prince awoke with a kiss.

That's Snow White's fairy tale. I know that (and other) version of her story. But davejames was mentioning a glass coffin for Sleeping Beauty and since I like reading different versions of fairy tales I was wondering where/when she got one.

The saga sell for the show every week says that only one person knows the truth of where they all came from, and shows Regina when it says that, so I'm going with the assumption that everyone else is clueless. Which just makes Rumplestiltskin's "please" earlier in the show that much more interesting to me. Regina told him he wouldn't remember he had that power if she was successful, but he's still obviously a manipulative villain with his own agenda. He might not be fully aware that all he has to do is say "please" - he probably just chalks it up to his innate abilities to make things go his way.

This is bad. I'm getting attached enough to start discussing a show again. This obviously spells doom for its future. It's been a long time since I've really invested in a show - been burned too many times.

I'm enjoying all the familiar faces that are showing up. Loved that Harry Groener, a.k.a. The Mayor, was Jiminy's father. And it was nice to see Laura Bertram (Trance from Andromeda) again, if ever so briefly, as Geppetto's mother.

I didn't realize that was Trance. She was one of my favorite characters on Andromeda.

Wow. I didn't realize that was Laura Bertram, either. She was great as Trance.
