Once Again, Kirk breaks things

Gorn Captain

Commander
Red Shirt
Before tonight, I had never seen the ending of Return of the Archons.

However, I have seen the end of Return of the Archons. In The Changeling. And the Ultimate Computer.

Apparently when your enemy is a computer, if you talk mean to it you can get it to break down like a teenaged girl.

...Moreover, all those machines were supposed to work independently in their godlike role, yet two of them were based on the brain patterns of humans who are notorious for being incapable of working independently for any length of time. They'd naturally be on the verge of crashing to begin with. And Nomad of course was a crash victim, distressed bodily and mentally beyond all hope.

There is always more room for God like aliens, Evil A.I.s and of course Evil Alien God Like A.I.s.

I was just wacthing a Farscape episode where Chriton is trying to calm down a ravenous beast-monster. When he sees it isn't working and he's about to get eaten, he says, "Okay, enough with the Captain Kirk chit-chat!" and goes into action.

But not in A Taste of Armageddon or For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky? ;)

Farscape was great for Trek and other references. My favorite was a bunch of DRD's trying to help Crighton fix something. They're talking amongst themselves in their digital beeping language, Crighton's getting frustrated.

"Enough with the R2-D2, all right? We're on the Star Trek system here - one blink for yes, two blinks for no!"
