Omnius reporting for duty Sir!

Omnius

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Some months ago I applied for a job with the Royal Dutch Air Force. With my background; I have a degree in Computer Science, I applied for the position of Officer CIS (Communication & Information Systems). After that I enrolled in the long selection process. But I passed my psychiatric, medical and fitness evaluation. I passed the last one today.

So as of August, I will start basic training at the Royal Dutch Military Academy (KMA) in Breda. Training will last 15 months, I'll start at the bottom (as everyone else does) as a Soldier 3rd class, I'll get promoted to Corporal after 15 weeks into the training. When I finish I'll be a 2nd Lieutenant.

*sigh*
I'm soo happy, I have been looking forward to this quite a bit. Lots of stress, working out have finally paid off.
Though I must remind myself the real challenge is yet to begin.

Thanks!
I must say though that even a mere soldier's pay is a lot more than what I make as a Vice Admiral!

Congrats, Omnius. :) Will you be uniformed when you are finished with your basic training, or is that not required in your job?

Omnious, great! Looks like you are going into this with the right attitude. I hope it all works out for you!
