Most of them have hair.Look at Picard then look at these people.

Not to everyone else who doesn't give a rat's ass and understands that TOS was made in the ***60s***
Being made years ago doesn't make it inferior and need to be pushed aside...
Well stated. Agree 100%.
The people they picked to play the roles look like they suck and thats a big part of it.
Look at Picard then look at these people.
Yeah, to date (if you don't include the feature films, but do include TAS it's happened five times since TOS first aired."It's ludicrous -- The charm and success of [the original Star Trek] were based on the perfect mix of the characters -- and the actors playing those parts."To quote nuBSG:
-- Fan complaints about Picard/Stewart, Riker/Frakes, Data/Spiner, et al in 1987.
"All of this has happened before and will happen again"
The opinions I've been reading are about what people have seen and there is nothing wrong with that otherwise this board would dead wouldn't it? I have zero problem contributing a reaction to what is currently out there or reading someone else's. They are as worthy as each other. There is when you think you can accurately extrapolate from 4 minutes to 900!! There are serious problems with that.

That's just the nature of the beast. You give out samples.. people try them.. and then go from there. I'm sure when the episodes actually air in full it will be quantity and quality all over the placeIf people would restrain themselves and wait until they watched before making wild assumptions, then this place would be quieter. Quality, not quantity.
Assuming how a whole show will play out based on 4/900 minutes of footage is not quality.

For the same reason these were the promos for TNG and DS9 back in 1987 and 1993 respectively (prior to the shows first airings):That's just the nature of the beast. ......AND, those promos told me nothing about the story! For the same reason these were the promos for TNG and DS9 back in 1987 and 1993 respectively (prior to the shows first airings):

Action and Explosions and Spectacle (read visual effects) supposedly make the general viewer go: "Ooooooooo...Ahhhhhhhh!" and they tune in.

People who remember the "Encounter at Farpoint" promo giving information about the plot of the episode are remembering the promo used for the show during its syndication run.
The promos used for the premiere episode before it premiered did not give us much information about anything -- except the generic stuff about it being a new ship and new crew (promos like the TNG promo in the post above).
You know, no one forces you to come here and read all our petty complaints.
Sure they did.Its called world building.
Just because they didn't use it in TOS doesn't mean it didn't exist.
You're free to decide based on a couple minutes of video. I'm free to tell you that you don't have enough information to really know. To think otherwise is just fooling yourself. The opinions I've been reading are about what people have seen and there is nothing wrong with that otherwise this board would dead wouldn't it?
