OMG! Look how young he is!!

Barrowman was the Poochie of that show, to Andy and Emma's Ichy and Scratchy.
From memory he (thankfully) only did that Electric Circus slot and that was only for the first year.

By 1996 I can't remember who presented it, but they sent Craig Charles out to interview Patrick.

So there was a Red Dwarf/TNG meeting!

As I recall all three did the first series. Then TPTB decided to go with just two main presenters, and he got down graded to the Electric Circus slot.

As I recall John had got some part in a US drama and had moved to the states.

Hmmm ... you're right. He was 27 in that clip, but looked like a teenager. He was already setting up that whole "living forever" thing way back then. And Shatner wasn't an ass in that clip. Color me surprised! :guffaw:

No-one comes across as an ass when they're alongside Barrowman. All assness pales into insignificance when in comparison with his twatness.

Central Park West, which somehow managed to run about 21 episodes over 2 seasons and John played "Peter Fairchild" which for some reason I find very funny. Not sure why.

All told he'd have probably been better off sticking with Electric Circus. (Was that the show's title? Weird as there was a popular Canadian dance show by that name running about the same time.)

L&K had Emma all show. GL had Emma only in the cookery slot, with Pip Schofield. L&K wins.

plus, L&K aired both X-men and Spider-Man's animated series...

It wasn't as good as Going Live - or am I just showing my age!

Expect I'm showing mine too, but Going Live seemed new and original (it wasn't of course!) whereas Live And Kicking just followed with exactly the same formula - promoting an afternoon CBBC presenter to the Saturday morning.

Saying that I think Zoë Ball beats her predecessors anyway!

Ah yes Saturday morning Kids TV shows, You can show your age by the ones you remember and which channel you watched. Multi-coloured swap shop anyone?

i watched Swap Shop as a wee nipper, then went on to Saturday Super-store before GL and L&K.

so which was your favourite of the summer replacements?

I was in the audience for Going Live once - Elton John & Danni Minogue were on, one time Doctor Who guest star Sarah Greene was very nice from what I remember. When not in use Gorden The Gopher was just dumped on the floor behind his little desk.
