I don't get this Galaxy Quest comparison...it's brightly lit and silver...so automatically its Galaxy Quest.

I think that should be more of a compliment to the designers of the GQ bridge, rather then a criticism on the Trek designers. The GQ bridge was actually quite nice.

As someone mentioned in another thread, the bridge looks like some preproduction paintings by Mike Minor for TMP.

The Kelvin shot looks awesome...

The Bridge looks EXCEEDINGLY ugly, to no compare... this has confirmed my worst fears about this monstrosity.

Well I think that the bridge is structurally close to the TOS bridge, but the details are different. I think we need to see the a wider shot of the bridge other then just this pic, cause people are blocking out many things.

Perhaps it changes by the end of the movie.

On the one hand, These are the voyages of the starship Ikea.

On the other, interesting detail in the Kelvin shot: the two twin-barrelled turrets she's firing. (Possibly three, one of which has been trashed.) At first I thought those were the phasers, but if you look closely they seem to be firing white, possibly winged missiles with blue contrails. Photon torpedoes?

That my friends is what we call a "reboot".

You could be right. Then again, there may have been a refit or two between "The Cage" and "Where No Man..." that we never heard about.

That font used for the Kelvin throws me a little. Looks like a hybrid between TOS Starfleet Classic and Movie-Era Starfleet Bold Extended.

The turrets of the Kelvin...point-defence particle beam cannon as a last ditch when phasers and photon torpedoes don't and can't get the job done?

1.) Damn, Chris Pine looks young in that shot...

2.) I'm going to assume that bridge is for the USS Kelvin until proven otherwise.

3.)
I like what I see... except that the minidress uniform is too long.
That miniskirt is not too long or too short. It's just right to fit in with the 1960's originals. It also allows the female crewmember to look attractive without looking like a tramp. In fact, all the uniforms look quite good. They'd fit in with The Cage-era very well. I'm wondering why Kirk doesn't have his command gold on, though.

You say that as if looking like a tramp is a bad thing.

From the MTV article:
Here’s what Lindelof had to say about what Trek fans can take away from the photo: The set you see in the photo is the bridge of the U.S.S. Enterprise, and not a training room.
