As for the "my old Trek was scrapped, erased and replaced for the new Trek by soulless Hollywood" bullshit.... I don't even want to start commenting on it anymore.
Even though I liked the movie I can completely see where people are coming from when they say the nuTrek has no soul...because it didn't.
You all have to understand people (some fans) have high standards when it comes to Trek...especially TOS and we expect a lot out of it...and I know that we are expecting too much of it for the the new millenia...I don't feel that they will do a story that satifies our mind, heart and soul.....we're just in for "fun rides" from here on out.
I'm sorry but as I said in the previous post...bullshit
Of course,as everything else, the movie is not perfect but there are hundreds of posts in this very forum and hundreds of threads were people analyze and comment on how in addition to having fun they have found both heart and soul. How it was genuine Star Trek to them. It had optimism, excitement, emotion, humor and all sorts of themes.
And no, they are not unwashed mashes or mtv generation teens or any other such nonsense some say to feel superior and enlightened.
it's perfectly fine if someone doesn't like the movie. Just don't use arguments that are completely detached from reality.
Anyway, these things have been discussed around here 1000 times. Nothing came from it then, I don't expect anything will come of it now.![]()
First Mr. Hard...I've missed you so and I've been counting the days until you've returned..and now my wish and dreams have been realized!!! Life is worth living again!!!!!!!!

Well since these things have been discussed a million times already...that can be applied to a lot - if not ALL of subjects around here so I think we should all just stop posting on any topic that you've already posted on....would you like that?
I'm glad so many people have found that the nuTrek has heart...but from what I've read...most say they like the movie or rather love it... but that it does in fact lack some heart/soul...and we're hoping that in the next installment they can ramp this up a notch... It did have excitement and humor...I absolutely agree with that...but the emotion was very rushed...I barely had time to care because we were on to the next thing.
I will say that I'm very amused by people who will "stick" up for the movie no matter what and not a bad word...can't we all agree that most of us liked the movie but there are flaws and this is what they were and this is what should of been or what we would of liked to been done differently? Just because I point things out...which I feel a lot of people don't want to be bothered doing because it's not the "popluar" opinion but it's not a your with us or against us type of thing...because I'm with the new era.....I am..... but I'm not drinking the everything that JJ and company has done is frikkin awesome kool aid....I just don't like that flavor.
