I know that all the episodes have survived as Audio Recordings, are there still plans to animate the missing serials?

Not that has been announced. But then, fans have been animating them and putting them up on youtube for awhile. Some, which were basically done for free, are better than we saw on The Invasion. It seems to me it would be a good idea for 2 Entertain to get ahold of the people who did those animations, throw a few dollars their way, and have the ability to release the rest of the stories.

My understanding is that the cost of animating the two Invasion episodes was already allocated and it was extremely expensive. I'm sure there are others with far more information than I have.

Yeah Invasion was originally done for BBCi (the website) with money originally allocated for a followup to Scream Of The Shalka. When the the new series came along no point following Shalka and it's 9th Doctor. Once it had been done it was done it was offered to 2|E, who got it at a considrable discount. However the website no longer has the funds to finance animations.

The commissioning editor for the Doctor Who range at 2|E says he looks at the options weekly. It's just finding the money. Others have ideas, its just convincing him.
