well someone created a new character and managed to create one that has a whole life of there own outside of Doctor Who.

I pitched an idea to TPTB back in 1999 for Voyager, in which the crew are trapped in a planet-wide shopping mall. I called it "It's a Mall World, After All". True.

ETA: I looked up my rough synopsis for the ep, inteneded as a full comedy ep:

Travelling through a planetary system, Voyager finds itself the winner of a competition for the one billionth visitor to MallWorld, a world given over to the virtues and vices of eternal shopping. The prize is a huge wad of vouchers to buy whatever they want. Janeway and Torres haven’t done any shopping for six years, and Seven’s never been shopping, and so they go and do that funky thing. In the meantime the guys find shops with all the boy’s toys they can use: cars and ships, sports items, holographic girlie magazines, even seventy zillion types of beer.

It all comes undone when they overextend on the credit facility. The repayment system’s a bitch: items begin disappearing off Voyager as ‘interest’. They find it harder and harder to get clear of MallWorld but finally get away. On the way out, all the items they have purchased disintegrate; a security device built into MallWorld items like security tags in our shops.

Mind you, I also wanted to do a musical VOY ep as well.

she is still a woman, can even theBorg collective de program a woman of her love of shopping, she might not think she knows it, but I reckon deep down in side she knows how to.

that or like when Spock went camping, she will read up on how she is meant to act (possibly watch Clueless) and then act like that.
