Same here, after leaving the theater I KNEW something was bothering me, the movie was near flawless! (plot-holes exclueded) something didn't feel right, and it's like you said Roykirk it's too frenetic and each scene was a little short, it never gave me time to breath and absorb what I had just scene.I didn't mind Abrams, although I thought the pacing was a bit too frenetic (perhaps due to having to fit the "young years" into this film), and each scene was a little too short.
And remembering Basic Instinct, I'd LOVE to see what he could do with Uhura...Oh, and I'd LOVE to see what Paul Verhoeven (Robocop, Total Recall, Starship Troopers, Hollow man) could do with STAR TREK!![]()
I wouldn't.If we have to use people with talent, then i wouldnt mind seeing Sam Raimi take a shot at it. I've been a fan of his direction and visual style since Evil Dead, and who wouldnt want Bruce Campbell on the bridge of the Enterprise.
I think if any of us (and we all want to) tried his hand at it, it would result in this:Well my "dream director" would obviously be me. I'd finally get the Trek film i wanted, but it would most likely be despised by the rest of the Worlds population and flop miserably.
Abrams.
Its just a few butt hurt fans who wanted to bash the film before they saw it for not being too "Star Trek" or the canon violations that don't like it.
