The texture of the second one reminds me of the Protostar though they're both probbly inspired by B-29's. Did you tell Gemini they did a good job?

The second one makes me think of Crimson Skies.crossed with Space: 1889.

OMG someone else who knows that game. I loved the shit out of that game in the day. Those planes reminded me of Rutan's designs with the long wings. Always wondered if some of those planes could actually have worked. I miss Crimson Skies

The exact wording of the prompt I gave Gemini was "create for me a picture of the starship USS Enterprise A in a 1940s aesthetic"

I did a few versions but these two were the ones I kept. That second one is my new desktop picture

Not a fan of AI, and while they're not bad images, they're not really "1940's". A 1940's version of the Enterprise would probably look a little more like these non AI versions (done by yours truly).

I'd recommend looking up actual scifi artists of the time like Frank R. Paul and study their work if you're looking to create something that looks as authentic to the time as possible.

Why didn’t you just post these in the general Trek chat thread? Why are two random images created by AI worthy of a thread?

Yeah I should have done that..... I just got caught up in the moment I guess

Actually I love your designs a lot...... Why is the nacelle coming off and going on its merry way?

I have a bit of art from the period but to be honest I just wanted to see what the AI would do nothing more and nothing less, and I wanted to share the two images that I liked the most of what I tried. The rest all got binned.
