All it was... Inf act fire most of the bad actors from DS and Voyager and combine i think they would have had a better series.

Writuingf was ok,but got worse with the seasons and the continuation into Voyager, *Trying to continue from DS9 to Voyager and connect it. I am an amateur writer and even I could see where the writing was going with corny dialogue and dumb stories. lt was like they were ignoring the original premise.

DOH! And the ultimate paramount insult... another series with Backkula... Enterprise. OH GEEZE... hey where the hell is Sam to Quantum Leap him from the captain's chair... Please dooo!

what else will they think of next to make us all puke. a movie with two series flops? Voyager and Enterprise. OH please no...

DS9 would be borderline. Just have some decent writing.

For an amateur writer you sure have some odd typos. Leaves me not sure to take your post seriously or not but I will anyhow give you the benefit of the doubt and take your post seriously.

Agree with you about VOY and ENT.

Strongly disagree with you about DS9. DS9 had no bad actors btw, only one bad actress, Terry Farrell. The rest of the actors/actresses on DS9 were all exceptionally amazing and for the most part, way better than any of the actors/actresses on any of the other Trek series.

DS9 may have started out intending to milk the franchise, however, after Season 1 it definitely no longer was when Berman left the DS9 helm to go make VOY. After that point, DS9 broke many "franchise rules" and often at the expense of losing viewers who expected it to stick with the "Trek show status quo."

How far into DS9 have you watched? I'm suspecting maybe not too much past Season 1. DS9's writing got way better after Season 1. And DS9 certainly blows VOY and ENT way out of the water in every possible way.

In conclusion, it is vastly incorrect to lump the quality of DS9 in with the much lesser quality of VOY and ENT.
 
There were times when I thought Cirroc Lofton wasn't that good at all. But I like the character anyway. What is also true is that DS9 had the best recurring actors. I mean, look at them: There's Jeffrey Combs, Marc Alaimo, the great Andrew J. Robinson, James Darren, Loise Fletcher ...

But if your objective is to troll this forum, you've come to the wrong place.

This forum is notorious for not rising to the bait.

Now, if you want to discuss DS9, and explain the reasons why you dislike it so much, that is fine. But you really need to read the board rules before continuing your posting career at TrekBBS. Especially that part about how just saying this or that character or show sucks, without providing any rationale, is considered trolling on this board.

DS9 was cool, and had GREAT actors. Although there were a few that started out slow. They seemed to develop.

WTF, you are very late to the party! We stopped bitching about ENT a couple years ago, at least in this forum. Check ENT, I dunno what's been going on there. (Shipper wars perhaps? Ah those were the days.)

For the record, I was bitching about it from the first episode, where the heck were YOU when we needed you? ;)

Forget ENT, VOY & DS9 entirely. The Bitchfest du Jour is in FoT: they are recasting Kirk and Spock! Surely a disaster of those proportions will fully occupy your time?

Sadly, they apparently are right on the money in recasting Spock. Nothing to bitch about there. :( Bastards! Perhaps we will luck out and they'll tap Pauly Shore for Kirk? One can always hope.

I've only seen the first season of DS9 so far, and I have to say that as far as Trek first seasons go-- DS9 takes the cake for best acting.

That's because people take a lot of shots at Voyager :). I've never really understood the intertrek squabbling... all the treks have a special place in my heart :angel:
 
This thread is almost refreshingly nostalgic.

People stopped complaining about ENT a while back, and with seasons 3&4 some people even started praising the show.

A lot of people have been re-discovering VOY through re-runs, and you often hear them saying, "hey, it wasn't so bad after all!"

And DS9 hasn't really been criticized for ages, in fact, most Trek fans these days seem to regard the show quite highly.

With all due respect, why not just lock the thread? I mean, honestly, this guy is an obvious troll and the whole thread is just above the level "Starr Track SUx!". I agree that there's no reason to keep this going, but if you as the Moderator don't lock it, I think it's kind of unfair to request or expect people to not to post in an open thread and simply just "let it die."


Just my 2 cents, though, for what it's worth.
