Oh no! Its gone comerial

Great news! When I'm looking forward to a big movie - and this one is shaping up to be just that - I love all the ancillary stuff that comes along with it: Toys, tie-in promotional food, books, comics etc. Helps make the whole experience a fun one!

Might have to try and stomach a BK meal now though! (I'm a KFC man myself!)

I actually really like the Star Trek eSurance ads that they have in magazines these days.
I've never seen one, do you have any scans or links?

I think this is a good thing for Star Trek. The more media coverage, the more people who will go see it, the higher the possibility of gaining younger fans, the longer Star Trek will live.

Maybe if Paramount pulls this kind of thing every 15 years or so, Star Trek may last until there is an actual Starship Enterprise.

Maybe you can use the Star Trek Visa card at the store? Now that's commercial.

Glad the Australian version of the chain doesn't have that creepy mascot.

Incidentally, does anyone remember which ad featured a Sulu look-alike on the bridge of the Enterprise. It was in the mid-90s, and I think it was a fast food chain.

Wow a thread I posted has longevity...

Ah more Trek fan oddness. This one takes the cake for stupid!

Some issue with Tall buildings/megastructures and urban sprawl.

Sharr
I don't know that I'd call it stupid -- he does cite some points in his argument -- but it's really just a loosely-qualified opinion that the filmmakers have gotten San Francisco's buildings so wrong. His contention is further hamstrung by his identification of the bridge seen in the trailer (and in the screencap appearing at the top of the article about his complaint) as the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, when the view is quite clearly looking from the position of the Golden Gate Bridge toward what are today the Presidio/Marina District/Fort Mason areas (Starfleet Academy, in the movie) of San Francisco. From that viewpoint, the Bay Bridge would be somewhere out of sight behind the tall buildings to the left of the picture.

^Speak for yourself buddy!;)

no, I actually like them ;)

but I'm speaking for roughly 5 billion people, most of whom've probably never had one, never will, and never want to.

Damn, that's billions and billions NOT served... :(
^ Maybe if the majority of the third world ever had a ''CHANCE'' to try one, they would? :( Indeed... there are 'FAR' too many people dying of starvation across the globe. That shuldn't have to happen in the 21st ''FRACKIN'' century!

I reckon the Enterprise will stop at a giant Burger King space station drive-thru and get stuck behind some Klingons who are busy ordering far too much and take too long. Kirk gets impatient and orders to blow them up or something like that :)

OH and the viewscreen/window can wind up and down so they can get their food!!

Spock will bite into a burger of some sort and get ketchup on his uniform

Blah blah blah :)
