Oh, (Big) Brother!

About tonight's episode...

Michelle cries. Paul overuses the word "friendship." Nobody knows that "sketch" is a noun or verb, and not an adjective. Corey displays a bizarre wish to live at the North Pole and make toys. Three of the four things I just listed are business as usual for this dumb bunch of people.

Did Paul really say that he hadn't known that reindeer are real?

I rooted for Russell and he's a straight up sociopath.

Paul is more a Michael Scott sexist. He doesn't hate women, he just thinks sexist humor is really funny. Remember his reaction to Paulie's sexism.

I wouldn't mind James, Natalie or Paul winning.

The racism season was BB15 I think.

There have been many worse casts than this. The clique season was 100% despicable. Jessie was there and was somehow only the fifth or so least likable person. Then Rachel's second season and the winter writer's strike season I didn't make it past the first episode.

The worst one I saw was the "Dick & Danielle Show". Both of them were so utterly vile, and I don't understand why he wasn't pulled from the game for assaulting one of the women (he deliberately burned her with his cigarette).

You're cheering for a couple of misogynists?

So I'm supposed to cheer for NiCorey, who lays all over each other all day or Natalie, who thinks that America hates her because she got nominated or James, who while a nice guy, is possibly the worst strategic player in the history of the game?

Cheer for whomever you want. Yeah, they have strategy, and Victor does well in competitions. But this isn't Survivor, so it's not out of the question to cheer for James - because regardless of his questionable strategy (giving up HoH was monumentally stupid), he does have a good social game. And I say that as someone who really didn't like him last time.

James is a likeable guy. I'd love to party with the guy, but he is really clueless about playing Big Brother strategically. This week is a by-product of missteps that eventually caught up with him.

I'm really annoyed with myself right now. I had a long day, but thought I could at least stay awake long enough to see the whole episode tonight.

Nope. I'm not sure how much I missed; I nodded off right after Paul and Victor started telling James what Natalie said when she was up in the HoH room earlier.

What happened after that?

What happened after that?

I'm trying to remember but nothing important is coming to mind...James was surprised by what Paul was telling him and had a couple of DRs talking about how he never would have done that to her and he was sad about it. He then went to hang out with Natalie, she asked what was wrong because he looked upset and he said nothing. Did you even see the POV comp? It was MacGyver-esque and featured advertising for the new show. Corey won and kept nominations the same.

I don't really know who to root for. It seems like this has been an issue for the last handful of seasons - no one worth rooting for once we get to the final 5. James is a nice guy but not great strategically. Nicole and Corey are so boring and even admit themselves that they played "weak" and hid behind bigger players that would drag them along. Paul is a self-admitted asshole and Victor is good at comps but otherwise not very likeable. I guess it makes more sense to talk about who we least want to win, which for me is Corey, then Nicole.

If anyone cares, Natalie and James did make up a bit before she left. But they basically "broke up" and she told him that she should have just said from the beginning that they should have been friends. I think Natalie is very torn about it because there are times when she seems to genuinely like James as more than a friend, but other times when she pushes him away and gets an attitude for no apparent reason. It happened more often as the season went on. In fact, I'd say it really started around the same time that Natalie started playing more strategically. In the beginning of the game she was much more upbeat, happy, just there to have fun. Once she got past a certain point and realized she actually had a shot at winning, her demeanor changed and she became much more negative and moody. I think that being out of the game will bring her back to her positive self and she will probably try to reconnect with James in some way.

I did see the POV competition. I'm surprised at how poorly a couple of them did, but it was great seeing how they got "blown up." NOT happy that Corey won it.

Natalie basically turned into a passive-aggressive bitch the last episode, and James is better off without her. And holy cow, that interview with Julie was painful to listen to - like a Chipmunk on helium.

And we finally see some sensible strategy out of Corey and Nicole!

Are you talking about Corey's decision to remove his shirt before thoroughly cleaning the kitchen?

Yeah, they deserve some points for making a sound game move in nominating Paul and Victor; but they lose a few points, too, due to their trust of James was based primarily on an ability to summon him up to the HoH room using only telepathy.

Well, doing all that cleaning was sensible. His shirt was irrelevant. If he took it off to keep it clean, fine. I don't find him attractive at all, so it didn't mean anything to me.

Yeah, that telepathy thing was weird. Is that all they do when one of them is HoH - just lay around in bed unless they're eating or in a competition?

My guess is that they wanted to talk to James, but at that point they couldn't just yell down to him to come up and talk. It would have tipped their hand to Paul and Victor.

I'm not unhappy at all that Victor and Paul are on the block. As long as neither of them wins the veto, one of them will leave. It's more than time for Victor to be gone. All this "second/third chance" stuff is ridiculous. There's a reason people get evicted, and most of the time it's not because they're the pawn who got pushed out instead of the target.

While I agree that I hate the silly buyback's we have yearly now, I give him props for winning both of them. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

I wouldn't like Victor even if he'd stayed gone. He's good at competitions, but he's also a nitpicky jackass.

And... he's gone. Finally!

And... the jury house explodes as this very unlikable group of people keep attacking each other long after they have lost their chance at the prize.

Would anyone else be surprised if Victor doesn't get the $25,000 prize for "America's Favorite"? I think he will - not because I like him, but because of his record of wins.

I think James will get the 25 thousand again.
