That first one used to scare the sh@t out of me as a kid along with Robin giving birth to human/lizard babies. Anyway, those lizard women were some badass b@thes.

Doesn't matter if you figured it out prior to the reveal at the time - the presentation knocks it out of the park and past three others from several states away on that planet in the other solar system from that other galaxy, cuz no matter how you slice it, this scene rules.

Also, at 1:10, if you find your old board game of "Mouse Trap" and notice the plastic dealie missing, that probably ended up as a Borg prop... :luvlove: (Everyone rightly talks of the cat toy laser pointer glued to Locutus's cyber head, but the Mouse Trap toy is the true unsung hero...)

:guffaw: ILC nailed the parody/spoof of music videos and they did, what, a dozen or more over their five years... :luvlove: them all!

Man, that still gives me chills!

I remember that summer well. I went online for the first time to find other fans to discuss the cliffhanger with. It seemed like forever between the finale and the premiere!

I was watching those ones recently too. The first two. ILC was hysterical anytime it had anything to do with music especially, I thought as well.

The make-up was astounding, a lot of it holds up. Even the one scene, with the jaw extension, was cut sufficiently short - with it helping that viewers would be stunned on initial view and not think into how the effect doesn't look 100% real by the time the cutaway of the swallowing effect, which did look 100% real, took over. But for the time, it was spellbinding. The original miniseries' effects generally hold up very well*, but really holds up far more with characterizations and acting.

Jane Badler pretty much took the role of Diana and made it so unique and well-acted with that performance. It's the best form of employee engagement in acting! Even the ill-fated 1985 weekly series is elevated by her acting out the antics. But even then, the scripting was harder to swallow, hence cast members leaving and mid-season revamp and how the finale was cut short, ending on a cliffhanger where - had the final episode been filmed, Juliet Parrish would have been killed off as well. Wow...

* Each laser blast from a gun or ship had cost roughly $1000 to do, if I remember the making-of correctly. So the next time you're watching, each pew in a pew-pew ratcheted up $1k to the show's cost.

The first one made me uncomfortable. The whole something goes into something, and it gives them an orgasmic noise. Just... I don't know...

Yeah, some review sites can be different - all within the realm of the episode being reviewed... The "Duet" one was largely snark-free, though...

But for even more fun, it's a few bored 20-somethings:
