Honestly, it's just a tough time of year. Vacations (I've been on several this summer, and am also going to Germany for 2 weeks in September) are a big part of it, plus nice weather that leads many people to unplugging and doing other stuff. Like I give a shit about the "admiral's war" crap. I've probably made 15 posts combined in all of my lounges in five years, mostly "i'm here" or "i'm getting promoted"...Maybe it's another indication of this board being absolutely dead lately. I mean I come on, and it's almost like people care more about a stupid admiral war than actually having discussions.
my two cents on that? Good. Sucks for him and his family (he only found out he had cancer a couple days earlier), but good for the NFL and the players. He helped grow the business, but it seems like especially with the older, retired players, he did JACK to support them or help out, and there are some sad stories out there.Hell, I brought up the death of Gene Upshaw today and no one had anything to say.
Not really a matter of yahoo vs espn, works the same if no one shows up. Sucks, but look at the board and this thread, and see if you can find more than 1-2 complaints about the time. It APPEARED that it was going to work, and a lot of people just were AWOL. Wouldn't complain too much, with only 4 live people there, you should have cleaned up!I've already said that this is the last year I'm doing Yahoo (I think ESPN is so much better and I'm actually in an ESPN fantasy team to try that out) so if we do a standard ESPN league next year, let's all decide on when the best date is.
Yeah, I thought the draft date would work for me, but I realized too late that it didn't. I don't think it matters much that only 4 people were drafting live. A lot of us will have some tweaking to do (especially for some of the late round autopicks), but in the important early rounds, tthe draft probably went fairly close to how it would have had we all been there. The draft is just the starting point- as far as I'm concerned, it's more important that owners keep up with their team throughout the season.
Hey, the NFC Yahoo league draft date is still set for Sunday night.
Hello. Now, I'm curious... If one of, if not *the* biggest Bronco fan on this BBS... I'm just wondering in the AFC league who took Cutler, Marshall and Royal with their top picks?
