Official Terminator Season Two Spoiler Thread

Or she makes a choice to override her own programming.

I'm not certain if that's possible. In T3 the T-850 was able to override its programming because it wasn't him in the 'driver's seat' so to speak. He was being remotely controlled by the T-X and was able to retake control of his systems long enough to deactivate and reboot. I'm not certain if Cameron would be able to do such a reboot.

It wouldn't be possible as she is programmed. Then again, skynet wasn't programmed to wipe out the human race. It went above its programming and started making decisions for itself.

Besides... the Rivernator is special. Or something.

Terminators have their higher functions retarded. i was quite surprised to see an extra 5 minutes of Arnie removing his chip so that Sarah and John can let it think like a living being for them. Which in theory would make it a better fighter, but then in theory Anikan was the chosen one.

According to the trailers, they say that there's "physical damage" to Cameron's chip. So, maybe her programming hasn't reverted to "default mode" but has instead been corrupted in some way.

I know when I transfer files I have to tell my computer to erase things as they transfer otherwise... Maybe there's a less corrupted version of her still hiding in the traffic computer?

John says in one trailer he built her.

Early in Season One there was a rumor floating around that it was John and not Skynet that created Cameron (the rumor was that she was built in honor of a deceased member of John's family - perhaps his wife or daughter). From what the trailer says it seems that John may have actually built Cameron from the brief snips of dialogue and not skynet itself.

That's another possibility. Or, as Cameron said in season one's Dungeon's & Dragons, "Sometimes they just go bad. We don't know why."

When Cameron goes bad she should rip off her clothes and rip off Sarah's clothes and wrestle with her in some Jell-O.

Thanks. My only problem is, that does seem to be that whatever happens, whatever changes, it almost always breaks to Skynet's supreme advantage.

Exactly. Even though Judgment Day is delayed it only will get worse because Skynet will have new technologies to fall back on. In the original continuities - for example - Skynet had a central core in Cheyenne Mountain and a backup center in LA. As of T3 it was on the internet and not in a central location. All of this serves to make Skynet a more deadly threat because it's getting harder and harder to kill.

One of the more interesting storylines had Skynet truly incapable of being defeated because its processors were moved to an orbital satellite.

Since I can't edit my post I'll reply to it.

The teaser for T4 seems to support your theory too.

Another Terminator Salvation news bit (yeah this is for TSCC but its still important)

The Terminator has been cast. He is being played by Roland Kickinger

This is an image of the actor

NewT800.jpg

He is not playing a new Terminator but an established one. He will be replacing Arnold as the Terminator from T1 and will be playing that infiltrator.

Now for a bit about Sarah Connor. It took them 150 frames for the storyboard for the opening scenes of the Season Premire and it's supposed to be more action packed and suspenseful than the FBI scene.

Some additional data

- The season will only consist of 13 episodes.
- There will be massive, season long changes starting in the Season Premire.

Thomas Dekker:
"In the first season John was weak. He was mentally there but I don't think he had the blood in him yet for war. I knew subconsciously from Josh that we needed to keep him young and innocent, with the long hair, trying to go to school and be normal so we could give him an arc. This year, John's got a lot more cold blood running in him and I'm taking that into account every time we do a take."

I saw that trailer too. It would also make more sense this way given John's statement that he built her. Unless he popped in a chip from the "dead terminators" bin, I don't see how her default programming would be to kill John if he was the one that created her.

I really hope this whole "Cameron is a hot baddie" thing doesn't last beyond the premiere. I'd rather she not be a T-X clone.

In other news, I've pre-ordered the DVD of Season 1. :techman:

^ They've been pretty good about keeping spoilers quiet with this series I'll give them that. I wish I could tell you if Cameron is going to be a baddie for long.

Also, I just read, the producers gave Lena Headey an ultimatum and told her to get to the gym between Season 1 and 2.

The biggest complaint I've heard about Headly's Sarah Conner (other than the fact that she's not Linda Hamilton) is that she's not buff enough for the part, so this could be in response to that. Of course, Sarah might have let herself go a little after T2 thinking that the threat was over, and has had little time to 'buff up" since learning that she was wrong.

I wouldn't mind if "Dark Cameron" stuck around for a few eps, but not forever.

I'm kinda disapointed that they are turning Cameron evil, but I think there is still potential for that to be an interesting story. Just as long as they don't keep her bad for the whole season. Everything else you guys have said does sound pretty cool. I'm definitely looking forward to Season 2!

^ Another (minor) spoiler

- The theme for this season is EVOLUTION.

Even more important if Turk is Skynet...

Yeah, I was rewatching T2 a couple of weeks ago and had forgotten how cut Linda Hamilton was in that role. Of course, she then had to up and marry James Cameron...

I doubt they'd make her permanently bad as that would ruin her character as a foil for John. I've also enjoyed the hinted irony of her--a machine--being John's companion (and creation) in the future. Converting her into a villain for too long would undermine all of this.

^ Remember that they are giving John a different companion this season though. A new character who will be his love interest.
