ST is about to be done in the theater I go to, as it only has one morning showing remaining. However, it stayed in theaters longer than Terminator:Salvation, even though T:S came out later....
Encouraging that Star Trek has wound up surpassing Wolverine. Even given the poor advance word on Wolvy, IIRC most professional observers expected it to do better than Trek worldwide.
My IMAX had 90+ seats filled at the Friday showing, had 30 seats reserved for yesterday's showing, and as of 5.30 p.m. pacific, has 20 seats reserved for tonight's 8 p.m. showing.
14 seats for Monday already this early.

I'm determined to make it one more time for absolutely certain, probably around Thursday as I get work out the door...

Went to the 7:00 IMAX at the aquarium (#14 for me), there were probably about 300 people there. And there were at least a hundred people lined up when I left, for the 9:30 Sunday night show.
They seemed to have some sort of problem with the projector at the start of the movie - About five minutes after the movie was supposed to start, they made an announcement saying "We're going to be starting the movie in five minutes, thank you for your patience." About fifteen minutes later, they made another announcement, "We'll be starting the movie in just a moment, thank you for your patience, and this movie is well worth the wait."
And even though the movie's been open two months now, at least two people gasped audibly when Spock Prime appeared. And the movie got a round of applause at the end.

this year in my town people didnt care.
even with storms forcast they showed up in record numbers for the fireworks.
and stayed out in the rain to watch the fireworks go up.
Make that 130 seats taken at the local IMAX for Star Trek...

I'm getting a wave of nostalgia.
pookha, our fireworks were called on account of rain last night, and we just got in from watching them tonight -- which was a beautiful night for it.
With how bad the Box Office does during JULY 4th then surly that shows any Star Trek sequel must comeout after or several weeks before July 4th weekend. Does anyone have info on what films are slated for Smmer 2011 and where they might air the only one I know of is Spiderman 4 in early May.
Nice numbers for the weekend, although I was personally thinking it would do about $2M.
With no Star Trek at my local theaters, I didn't make it to the movies myself. I kind of want to see Transformers, but I can't muster a lot of enthusiasm for it. It was much the same way for Terminator: Salvation which I never got around to seeing.

If you make it, they will come...
Look at Transformers. All you need is favorable short-term memory and the sequel will do just fine, whenever it is released (long as it has 2-3 weeks "to itself").
