Listen for yourself. Definitely has a Giacchino vibe to it, a very LOST feel to the opening part but sounds like it fits into the Star Trek musical library.

It reminded me a little of the soundtrack from Mass Effect (perhaps the best Star Trek "game" in the last decade) and Space Shuttle Mission 2007.

It definitely has undertones of the casket scene from the end of TWOK...

Yeah, it definately had that deep brass 'hit' that the Nolan Bat-flicks featured heavily.

I don't know if it is from the film, but It sounds like the type of music we usually hear during the second half of the ending credits (you know -- when we see the credits for "gaffer", "best boy", and "driver for Mr. Quinto")

I like the parts when the subtle background percussions join in (toward the end of the piece.)

Frankly, it sounds like a combination of TOS show and movie (that is, string and arrangement) with a hint of latter-Enterprise thanks to the percussion.

It's quite lovely and seems pretty introspective, which is a great take on a Trek orchestral piece.

Anyone able and willing to sync up the trailer imgs to the music for a kind of video?

I've been trying to find a synchronicity of both with two tabs but the music loop is longer than the video. Allowing the music to play for a short while, (ala TMP style overture) helps.
