Most Hilarious Category Award goes to: Best Miniseries!
John Adams - the only worthwhile nominee
Cranford - anyone who could slog through this treacle deserves my respect; so cloying and cutesy it makes Jane Austen look like Quentin Tarantino
Tin Man - err, nice acting and production values but the story was nonsense
Andromeda Strain -

is this the Emmys or the Razzies?
My Should Win (Will Win) predictions
Comedy -
30 Rock (ditto)
Drama -
Lost narrowly over
Dexter (
Mad Men)
Comedy Actor - Lee Pace (Baldwin or Carrell, but Pace could upset)
Drama Actor - Michael C. Hall (John Hamm)
Miniseries Actor - Paul Giametti (ditto)
Drama Actress - Glenn Close (ditto)
Miniseries Actress - Laura Linney (ditto maybe but Phylicia Rashad's got a shot)
Miniseries -
John Adams (ditto)
Drama Supporting Actor - Michael Emerson (ditto)
Miniseries Supporting Actor - flip a coin for any of the three
John Adams nominees
Comedy Supporting Actress - Kristin Chenowith (ditto)
Comedy Writing -
Pushing Daisies (?)
Drama Writing -
Damages (either
Damages or one of the
Mad Men nominees)
Dillane and Wilkinson I can understand, but Morse is a bit mystifying, honestly; he didn't do much, and I found him kind of stiff.
I was impressed as much by Morse as the other two. Morse had the harder role - not flashy, very interior. He totally convinced me why a low-key guy like Washington could command such respect in both military and political matters.
I've seen performances before that brought Jefferson and Franklin to life, but this is the first time I've seen anyone do the same with Washington. Both the acting and the writing deserve credit.
