Odd-numbered films on Bluray

Can we expect 1, 3, 5 released individually anytime soon? Does anybody know why only 2, 4 and 6 have been put out there? Amazon doesn't even have a preorder/coming soon slot reserved for Search for Spock.

I know I could buy the whole box set, but that's 90 bucks and I already have 2 and 4 already. Seems like a waste.

I live in the UK, but imported the US Box-sets! They are available individually here - example. There's no regional coding on the discs, so you'd be able to play them on any machine. Be aware UK cases are noticeably wider for whatever reason?!

Amazon has the movie box-set (1-6) used for 45 dollars. That might be your best bet for now.

Perhaps because they're the good films?

Anybody who thinks that 4 is better than 1 or 3 needs their head examined.
Sorry, I should have said, they're the popular films.

I personally don't like the 4th film at all, except for the fact that Gillian Taylor gets to go to the future.

I liked the 3rd film more, if only for the Excelsior's introduction and the Spacedock sequences (I acknowledge that Spacedock itself is utterly ridiculous in size, though).

I liked the 1st film best of the three, but they really didn't need to spend half the film driving home the point that the V'ger cloud was gigantic (82 AU in diameter!). Its size was completely irrelevant to the story. I just wanted to scream, "Are we there yet?"

My favorite too. Like the OP, I really wish that they'd release this individually on BD. I got the boxed set from the library just to watch TMP - and it looks really great in hi-def.

Video quality on the odd numbered blu-ray discs is pretty lousy anyway... 4 sucks too.

I only watched TMP, but the quality was far superior to that of the DE DVD. The images are much clearer, the grain has been cleaned up and the colors were far more vibrant than on the DE. The original matte painting for the Vulcan sky is breathtaking.

Compared to the reference Blu-Ray movies out there, the Trek movies are not the best. Compared to the existing DVD's however, the Blu-Ray's are far far better. No comparison really.

They are superior to the DVDs, but far, far, far away from the quality of, for example, the Aliens or Back to the Future blu rays.
