I once heard somewhere that the vulcan ship in ENT, the pointy one, was kind of inspired by cultural and physical features of the vulcans. I dont know if this was a joke or not. But anyway I choosed to take a similar approach with this design. So here we go....its the U.S.S La Forge.

Well...that strut with the ring is somekind of sensor device(its like a reference to geordis visor). Its not supposed to land. But in case of an emergency the ship can detach the whole thing and land without that thing in the way. So no. But technically yes.

We didn't see Captain Tryla Scott beyond her only appearance in TNG's Conspiracy, but I imagine she must've had lots of adventures on her road to becoming the fastest to achieve the rank of captain:
