Hearts, gears, planet surfaces, beings in stasis , Vulcan train of thought, might all be frozen.

Does the weekend before Thanksgiving work as a deadline?

Since we're already halfway into October, what would anyone think of having the challenge run to mid-December?

Also, any parameters for the story, as in word count, previous works, that sort of thing?

I also think the contest should run longer. I'd say until the end of November, though, for the time being, perhaps with an option of a short extension if the situation calls for it. We also need to account for the voting period. And we do probably want to have a December/January contest rather than a January/February contest.

I had to look it up as well. Thanksgiving is on November 28, the weekend before would be the 23rd/24th.

It's been almost a week since the original post and I figure that's enough time for everyone to chime in on the deadline. I therefore make use of moderator privileges and set the deadline to November 30th, midnight CET (that's Central European Time).

As outlined above, some flexibility is possible. So, if you have a story in the works as we get close to the deadline but are unsure whether you'll finish in time, let us know in this thread.
