Hi there. I'm guessing this question has been asked before however I did not see an answer on line nor in any archive. I was basically wanting to know why on all streaming video sites it contains the episode as it originally aired rather that the remastered version. Also it seems to be the only episode where this is the case. Did one of the writers not like the remastered effects and decided to block it from viewing? I am a big trek fan and really appreciated how sharp the remastered versions was (unlike some others).

I see you didn't understand my question. I have the blue ray edition and can watch the remastered version anytime I want to. What I wanted to know is why this one particular episode is not remastered on every single streaming video site I have seen.

I'll bet it's what amounts to a clerical error, coupled with a lack of interest in correcting it.

The only people who have the power to decide what version gets released to what platforms are the in the parent Corp, not the writers or original producers. It's a boo boo.
