O'Brien out, Leno back in?

FOX would obviously be better, but apparently there are problems with that. On Comedy Central he could be himself, and he would have a natural audience that he might not have had previously (I would guess most TDS viewers watched TCR instead of Conan). Maybe Stewart and Colbert would even move up half an hour to accomodate his show?

That's an interesting thought... :vulcan:

The irony of the situation would certainly not be lost on Stewart and Colbert.

If it wasn't for the local news, I think Conan would be perfect at 10 on Fox. Unlike Jay, he's creative and inventive enough to make a variety/talk show that would ACTUALLY be worth watching at that hour. And he'd have a ton of momentum off of Fox's 8 and 9:00 shows too.

Unfortunately I doubt the affiliates would ever go for it.

I'm sure they wouldn't...around here, the local Fox affiliate's 10 o'clock news does huge ratings...they wouldn't want to give up the strategic advantage of being on an hour before everyone else's 11 pm newscast.

Could be used to great effect for a faux feud.

Yeah. FOX's early newscasts are it's main selling point when it comes to local advertisers.

Is that why you hate America?

I got redirected to Foxshop.com...apparently the place to buy official Fox show related stuff...but it appears to be an "official" Fox related site...

It appears that conan's departure announcement has been held up because of negations for non-contract staff compensation packages.

I read that as well on Yahoo. Massive props to the man for doing as much as he can for his staff.

What is interesting is that most all of the staff has said that they would follow Conan to where ever he went if "he needed them."

They have to be one of the most loyal staff I've heard about in Hollywood.

The staff of the tonight show was also seen handing out Pizza, Coffee, and Doughnuts to the gathered fans outside of the NBC/U building yesterday and thanking people for their support.

It might also have something to do with the tough economy. It's not easy being unemployed.
