O'brien and Riker

Why does this question come up so much? Its really obvious that Tom doesn't want to speak to O'Brien because he didn't know O'Brien and Will (who he was posing as) had served with him for many years, the time that Tom was on his own on that planet.

Funny, I come in this forum once ever other month and I swear this question is usually right at the top :lol:

This, a Dominion vs. Borg thread and a whats your fav. __________ (ususally season/episode).

And be court-martialed? He's as traditional a NCO as they come: he'd never do anything like that.

If he suspected there was something "amiss", he'd also immediately suspect Riker had a perfectly good reason for there to be something amiss. Such as "Get the hell out of here, Miles, and play along. Once I have scored, I'll buy you a pint or five."...

Sure, not like he would have thought "Will has no reason to behave this way. It's a good thing our main enemy right now aren't shape shifters, or else I'd think something was up that I should question." Hmmm...

And besides, all Tom had to do was say "Miles! Great to see ya! A bit busy now, but let's get together tonight at Quark's!"

DONE.

^Well, to be fair, Starfleet still knew very little about the Founders. No one had yet seen them replace another humanoid. So far, all they'd seen of them in humanoid form showed them looking just like Odo. It seems at this point people were more worried about an invasion of Jem'hadar than they were about "aliens among us." "Heart of Stone" is the first time we see a shapeshifter impersonate a humanoid.

{Insert my usual assertion that Tom Riker simply despised transporter chiefs here.}

If this question gets asked over and over again, I see no reason not to make the same joke over and over again. :p

Their ability to impersonate people is wacky given how badly they make faces for themselves... :rommie:

What, you mock them for their ability to perfectly imitate Odo's less than perfect imitation? :devil:

I wonder, did we see that level of security protecting the Defiant in any subsequent episode? Or was it simply decided that since the palm scanner thing didn't work that one time, it was no good anyway?
