Seriously, I'm not an LOTR or Tolkien fan by any definition of the word and I know what an Ent is.
Who?There's a Travis joke in there somewhere.
Not really, no.Anyone else feeling profoundly uninteresting in revisionist fanfiction?
Much of it holds up really well on rewatch. And I found myself liking the saber fighting more than I did in Ahsoka. This Kenobi series has made me interested in Star Wars again.
despecialized edition edits.
No, the film equivalent of a mix tape would just be a highlight reel. Not even remotely the same thing.Fan edits are just mix-tapes. The best bits as chosen by one person.
And easy to ignore if you don't like them.![]()
It's not a fan edit if they literally own, wrote, directed and shot the footage to begin with. Lucas can change whatever the fuck he wants, and people just need to deal with that reality.those don't count, if anything they are undoing Lucas's fan edit.

I know it can't literally be a fan edit, but it fits all the other criteria. unhappy with finished movie, make a new version with current technology. While the pendulum has actually swung a bit too far giving Marcia Lucas credit, you could say the Special Editions are George's fan edit of Marcia's Star Wars.
Even earlier than that...Unfortunately, the special editions were a precursor to the direction /editing we were in for with the PT. A man will tell you his intentions, if you stop and listen...
Fan editors can also change whatever the fuck they want, and people just need to deal with that reality.Lucas can change whatever the fuck he wants, and people just need to deal with that reality.
No disagreement here. And to be clear, I mean that as applies to both remixes and fan-edits.which is also often (but not always) an inferior product
