I hope the first episode opens with...
"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."

/\ there is also Vader's line in Return of the Jedi where he says that "Obi-Wan once felt as you do" in regards to redeeming Anakin. That implied another meeting between the two in between episode 3 and 4 because I don't remember any attempts by Obi-Wan to bring Anakin back to the light in Revenge of the Sith.

Besides, that particular episode was perfection. Retconning would be a disservice to all.Disney isn't about to retcon Rebels.
I still think they could do more with him. Have him fight Maul or something. Just retcon Rebels, or say that one was a clone.

Yeah, if they ever redo that scene in live action, you can bet it'd be a beat-for-beat recreation.
I'm not saying they have to go there, or even will at all; just that it's not impossible.
I doubt they will, since it's set so close to ANH and features the Alec Guinness-aged character. I know they've now had Genevieve O'Reilly play post-ROTJ Mon Mothma but I suspect they won't venture that close to Old Ben with Ewan.
I don't see that as a reason not to do it. Ewan is only a decade away from the age Alec Guinness was when he first played the role, so I could easily see that happening sooner rather than later.
Besides at this point I'm pretty sure that when most fans think of Obi-Wan Kenobi, the version that first comes to mind first is either Ewan or James Arnold Taylor, or both. So i think there would be a lot of interest, especially from those that grew up on the PT or Clone Wars to see Ewan as Old Ben.
