News Obi-Wan Kenobi series premiering on May 27

According to that chart Disney released a while back, Obi-Wan takes place earlier in the timeline than Andor.
Not that that really means anything or they're connected, just saying, might be simpler if they did Obi first (and just I really wanna see that more)

I had assumed the shows to be too disant to be directly connected, but now that I did some quick math on where they could possibly take place, Kenobi makes most sense to be 10 years after Revenge of the Sith, and Andor could take place 5-6 years prior to Rogue One (I haven't read spoilers to know if that contradicts anything public), which would put them 3-4 years apart. That could be as well at the same time.

I think it would be absurd to think that the shows would be completely unconnected, but I do expect the connections to be minimal, as Obi-Wan should be staying away from the Rebellion at this point, and Andor away from any parts of the Rebellion that concern Obi-Wan (Leia and Bail).

I think Obi-Wan will certainly pass by Tosche Station, given that they are reusing the Boba Fett sets, and we can have something like a background Chopper-stealing-an-arm cameo in both Kenobi and Andor. At best. :p

Obi-Wan's encounter with Black Krrrsantan took place the year before the show was supposed to be set. I wonder if they will tie that in somehow?

I think we're a ways off from a Kenobi trailer at this point. We haven't gotten one for Mandalorian season 3 or The Bad Batch season 2 yet, so I doubt we'll see anything until May-June at the earliest.

Well with all the work they did in the Book of Fett and the Mandalorian to fill out Tatooine, they will have a lot of places to tell tales of "Ben" Kenobi.

Cool poster.
I just realized that we're getting two back to back Disney+ series set at least partially on Tatooine.

They changed the name too adding "obi-wan" to the title.
Suffice to say this series had all my money back when it was still a rumored movie. Anyone here not going to be watching this?

Pretty sure the series has been known as Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi for quite some time. The title reveal with the series title treatment being blown away by sand was with that title.

Should we maybe change the title of the thread since we're long past the point of Ewan McGregor's involvement being a rumor?

I mean, given the appearances of Luke on The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, can we really be sure McGregor is actually involved? :shifty:

May 25th 2022 is also the 45th anniversary of ANH

It has been officially been called that since at least December 2020. People like to just shorten it to Kenobi when talking about it.

They did rearrange the logo though, it used to be just all in one row with Star Wars above it.
Doing it like this saves more space, width wise
