It was one of the reasons, yes. What happened during the Bush Administration is not my concern. I've had the job since May of this year.

This is the problem with giving someone so partisan modship. Silence the opposition. It's okay to call Palin a mouth breathing fundie (as one example) without a mention.

I've already asked people of both sides to stop in other topics, and the message in the pinned topic at the top of the forum makes it perfectly clear that the rule applies to everyone, regardless of affiliation.

No one is being silenced. The only part of any of your posts in this topic that was singled out was the "der fuhrer" reference, which contributes absolutely nothing to the discussion except to try and piss people off, and you know it. You're a smart guy, so you can drop the games and stop playing innocent victim. You know why you said it and you know what kind of reaction comments like that have gotten in the past.

And no, the "mouth-breathing fundie" comment is not okay, but looking it up now that you've mentioned it (with no notify on it I should add), the person who said it doesn't have a track record of making those kinds of comments frequently. If it becomes a frequent problem, then we'll ask them to stop.

As I am asking you; not warning, asking. I don't want to warn anyone, but neither do I want others to be drawn in to making warnable comments in response to trolling ones.

No, I was implying similar patterns of behavior. Using avatars and sigs to make trolling political commentary (though your current ones are fine), making out-of-the-blue trolling comments that are just designed to instigate and not contribute to the discussion, etc.

You have a long history of this, especially last year before the ban on political topics happened. And it's not going to start up again.

Take it to TNZ? Because being able to flame raises the level of conversation.

Trolling is no better than flaming. Don't make a distinction between the two as if you're above that sort of thing. If you're going to consistently do one you might as well be able to deal with the other.

I've tried improving the level of all discussions and asked people to respond with reasoning and not personal attacks. You were one of those people if you recall. I admit epic FAIL.

Now, who wants healthcare taxing?

What track would that be, exactly? It was a fairly obvious attempt for TLS to play games in this forum because he was booted from the other one. Just standard trolling, with a dash of baiting for good measure...

Whatever his motives might or might not have been, he asked a legitimate question without resorting to overt ideological rhetoric in the OP, so there was no justification to close it or do anything else mod related. In fact, his question is the exact example for what is an allowable topic that I used in my post in the pinned thread I linked to above. Which would be a perfect place to discuss this if anyone has any more questions about what is allowed or not.
