Death to false Trek
Dammit, Jim! He's still here! That means killing his grandfather in the past didn't work!
Death to false Trek
I do! It's on-screen so it is canon! You can't decanonise anything just because you don't like it.
TAS should be canon.
NuTrek is not Star Trek
How can anyone enjoy this crap? Not canon.
Of course it's canon. Explain how it possibly cannot be?
Well, it's not "canon" in the "old" Star Trek universe, but canon in its own "new Trek" universe.![]()
He probably saw the first female in the last 40 years. No wonder he's a bit shaken up, the poor bugger. We should go easy on him, with all these little jokes and stuff.[...] or someone walking past you in the row ahead...

Nice try. TAS was seen onscreen and is NOT canon. That means that NOT EVERYTHING seen on screen is canon.

TAS is the one and only exception to the rule, due entirely to Roddenberry's own declaration that it was non-canonical.

Did you know that in Generations it was canon, briefly, for the entire crew of Enterprise D to die horribly as a sun exploded?

NuTrek is Star Trek. I saw the title on the screen.
See?
Must have been something you missed. We understand. Noise, a dark theater, glancing down to grab a handful of popcorn, or someone walking past you in the row ahead...
Completely understandable.
I'm glad we had this chance to talk.
Oh...
The "canon".
The timeline.
It's changed.
It now is canon. The only canon there is.
The past is altered.
Did you know that in Generations it was canon, briefly, for the entire crew of Enterprise D to die horribly as a sun exploded?
Thing is, the past was then changed, and they didn't die.
Same thing here.
See how simple that was?
Now, go, and rejoice in your newfound understanding of all that is Trek.
Star Trek lives!
