Orphan Black was the perfect example. I don't think there was 5 minutes of fluff in 50 episodes. Did I want more? Absolutely, but not at the cost of quality.

Aye, same here. There are many great shows, American and British, that demonstrate having short seasons greatly heightening the overall quality of the series.
