Nuclear Defence

Open a mini-black hole in front of the missile and allow it to be swallowed whole . . .

Open a wormhole in front of the nuke and redirect it back on the enemy. Destroy them with their own weapons! It's genius!

Better yet, open a worm-hole that exits above the enemies OWN silos but five hours earlier in the past. In this fashion, when they launch their missiles, we'll direct them BACK at their OWN bases and destroy them AND the very same missiles with their own weapons five HOURS before they even launch!

Oh yeah! THAT'S the ticket!

We could have an interceptor missile that breaks apart into smaller missiles which make up a larger area, these missiles will take a formation that would surround the target missile. As they approach and come to pass the nuke they will explode releasing bullets which contain powerful acid, the bullets would penetrate the missile injecting the deadly acid into the inner workings of the inbound nuke.

Another option would be a missile that releases a large net. As the interceptor missile approaches the nuke it shoots a huge net out at the nuke which surrounds it, the thing is though this net has tiny warheads on the ends of each corner, as the net surrounds the inbound nuke the tiny warheads swing around and detonate on the back of the nuke.
The net is no ordinary net neither, it's made of tiny bendy tubes that are filled with flammable explosives so when the back of the nuke explodes the net explodes in a chain reaction wiping out the nuke.

All these missiles would be secretly located in orbit and would intercept detected nuclear launches straight away. The Missiles would be released towards Earth and hit the enemy missile head on.

Where on EARTH do you dream this stuff up?!

:wtf:

I am not sure the point of either idea. For the warheads to spray a nuke with acid or wrap it up in a net they have to get very, very close. Since they have to get that close anyway, it would be much more practical and effective to just design them to explode with a radius as big or bigger than the net or the acid (which will rapidly dissipate in the air anyway leaving it a very small window).

Even then the larger radius of the explosion, acid or net, will not increase the odds of a hit by very much. As long as we are using a missile to intercept, we are going to need to get good enough at it to score direct hits to have any reasonable odds of stopping the nuke.

^^
We could always just drop this guy onto the missile. (No! Not Shatner--the OTHER guy!!)

Well that's not very clever is it, it'd create a time paradox and the universe would implode.

Nah, just a time loop for the Russians who would have to figure out whether or not they're in a time loop or not, and what course of action to take, all the while the rest of the world continues on :)

Most likely the explosion would be very minor and only destroy a portion of our galaxy.

Yes, but it leaves OUR missle reserve available to make deeper craters out of the craters made by their own missles. We could then build giant underground skyscrapers.

Approximately the size of.....Belgium.

Well, that's a relief . . . .

They should build inside disused quarries...........................and the grand canyon. The entire stretch of the grand canyon should become one long building with a maglev rail track running along the top.

No, the maglev should be on the bottom of the building.

The grand canyon should be dug out at one end on a gradual slope, and the track extended beyond stratosphere by way of some sloped geometric structure.

The building could be made airtight. To facilitate rapid completion of this project, an aircraft carrier should be used. The planes should be replaced with starfleet type runabouts build with CEV/Orion technology.

I'm trying to work the circular track in here somewhere... :bolian:

That would make a very effective llama launcher.
