nuBSG fanfic "Battlestar Urantia"

Oh my, never has the hybrid been so lucid.....Caprica and fake earth converge? Visions of Kobol perchance?

So now I'm a Lieutenant, how come I still can't upload an avatar?

You should be able to. It has to be 140 x 140 pixels, maximum, and should be web-friendly, like a GIF. PM me, and I can help you, if you're having problems, or if you like, PM me the image you want, and I can set it up for you. :)

Hey, just an off-topic update... some new Urantia artwork... :)

I decided to make the flag/banner of the Emilon colony. I wanted to keep it consistent with the nuBSG look, yet have it be different from the Colonial banners, so I used the TOS BSG emblem in the place of the nuBSG "phoenix" emblem, and I gave the banner green colors, to further accentuate the feeling that the Emilon pilgrims are like Irish pilgrims from the 18th or 19th century. :) Let me know what you think. :)

Thanks! I actually ended up doing a version with the Colonial phoenix, and think that looks better, so I made banners for Emilon, Omiron, and Earth. My rationale for the Colonial emblem, was that once the fleets were integrated into Urantia's ragtag fleet, Standish would consider them all as one big Colonial fleet, and would represent each colony as such... since they all derived from Kobol anyway. Below are my designs, updated.

An update to the main story will come tonight. :)

BATTLESTAR URANTIA - "Farewell to Nauvoo, Pt. II" (EP. 010)

CONTINUED...

The beautiful blue world rotated slowly in space, as many multiple flashes of hot white light on the surface indicated new thermonuclear explosions.

Suddenly, a large warship crept into view, over the planet, and a pair of large missile doors opened, upon the hull. A second later, twin missiles shot out, and raced with all their fury, toward the surface of the planet, contrails of smoke chasing them down.

The missiles reached their point of impact, and another set of white flashes was seen, as the rings of the fallout wakes could now be seen, spreading out.

Not a second later, a series of three missiles shot up from the surface, and struck the mighty orbiting warship, slamming into the hull with such violent force, that the ship literally snapped in two, and broke apart, as a massive fiery explosion consumed it, sending fire and debris out into space.

All over the surface of the world, entire cities and vast land regions were being nuked, as massive mushroom clouds rose into the air, one by one, filling the sky with poisonous death. A sprawling coastal city, that once hosted a long and proud red suspension bridge... another coastal city, with a once-majestic opera house... a vast desert region, sporting a trio of absolutely colossal stone pyramids... an old-looking city, with a landmark in the form of a tall cylindrical stone building, that was leaning to the side somewhat. The white-hot death of the thermonuclear wakes found them all.

The narrow island-city sat in the noontime light of the day, its vast and majestic city broken only by a large rectangle of green parkland, that sat in the middle of the island. All around the southern edges and tip of the island, large starcraft were docked, as hordes of thousands upon thousands of people scrambled to try and board them, in a desperate attempt to escape nuclear death. After a few long moments, a few of the craft began to break from their large berths, and slowly rise up into the sky, angling away, for an orbital approach.

One by one, the various starcraft rose up into the sky, forming small ragtag groups of vessels. As they rose up into the air, the view far past the vast city could be seen, as across the horizon, numerous new mushroom clouds were rising up, and expanding.

The groups of starcraft began to rise higher, as they now headed out over the ocean, and over and past the towering statue that once welcomed those from other lands to the once-proud and vibrant metropolis.

The small group of ships emerged from orbit of the world, and rose higher and higher into space, as the small group now became joined by various other small groups of fleeing ships, as all vessels pulled further away from the globe, as all the while, the bursts of nuclear explosions could still be seen, on the surface.

Suddenly, a massive form loomed over the groups of ships, and a massive warship angled into position between the formations of ships, as all vessels assumed a loose fleet formation.

For a long silent moment, everything almost seemed to pause, as the numerous ships drifted in space, until suddenly, in unison, brilliant rings of pure golden light washed over each and every ship, and the whole fleet vanished from sight, leaving only the view of the world behind, as the blips of explosions flashed about on all points of the globe.

CYLON BASESTAR

Admiral Standish withdrew his hand from the Hybrid's pool with a loud gasp, as did Captain Fox, as Commander McAllister and Cavil looked on, curious.

Both Standish and Fox now looked to the Hybrid with looks of utter shock, and countless questions running through their minds.

My stomach turns at this holocaust being replayed over and over again. How many of the precious few habitable worlds in the cosmos have been laid barren by the machines and their eons long bloodlust?

Hehe... well, it is a painful prospect... especially considering how dark and bleak the nuBSG universe is sometimes. But let this be a ray of hope to you...

Pay attention to the description of the world in that post... something tells me that we're not really wasting any more worlds than already have been wasted, lol.

And remember the words of the RAZOR Hybrid... "All this has happened before, and will happen again.". :)

CYLON BASESTAR

Admiral Standish and Captain Fox merely looked to each other, as Standish finally broke the silence.

"What the frak was that? What did we just see?" he asked Fox.

Captain Fox wore a look of total bewilderment and confusion as to how this vision was possible, as he replied.

"I think we just saw the exodus... the end of the Clymian War. We saw Earth." he stated, stunned, as the Hybrid suddenly came to life again, and began talking in fast sentences.

"This has all happened before, and will happen again... the one true God shall rise up, and drive out the many. The cyclical trinity is complete, and the children are now of age. End of line." she stated, as one of the Simons walked over to Captain Fox, and carefully began to draw a blood sample, as Cavil and the others looked on.

"What the frak is she talking about? The Clymian War... what was that?" Standish asked Fox, firmly.

Finally, as Simon finished taking his sample, Fox looked to Standish, and began to recount the tale, from what he was taught about his people's history.

"The Clymians... our version of what you call Cylons... at first, on our world, both of us lived together in peace. But after a while, something began to happen, amongst our society... some of the population began to once again worship a polytheistic pantheon of Gods." Fox began.

"What's wrong with that? That's what everyone on the Twelve Colonies believes." Standish offered.

"And that may well be the reason why your twelve, and those from Emilon and Omiron stayed behind, removing themselves from our first exodus fleet... they did not share our belief in a single God." Fox replied.

"What are you saying?" Standish asked.

"It was us... we were the reason that humanity was expelled from Kobol. We refused to worship the many gods, and believed in a single diety. The Gods saw this as an abomination, and an act of rebellion, and as punsihment, the humans were exiled from Kobol. But we were the only group who followed a single God. The others... your twelve, and the Emilon and Omiron groups... they may have stayed behind, not wanting to bear punishment for something brought upon them by us." Fox stated. "In any case, the Clymians on our world decided that those who taught and followed the blasphemous ideals of plural Gods should be purged, to purify the world. They rose up, and began nuking our cities, our orbiting ships, and stations." Fox added.

At this point Cavil chimed in, as both men turned to face him.

"It should be pointed out, Admiral, that WE also believe in a singular God." Cavil stated.

For a long silent moment, Standish just looked at Cavil, until it began to dawn on him... the look of those old Centurions on the Earth ship, Cavil's welcoming Fox home, and the shared belief in one God...

"What the... are you telling me that he... that they're Cylons?" Standish asked.

"It certainly seems that way." Simon said, stepping forward, to address the group. "I just compared Fox's blood sample, with a sample of my own blood. It is the same." he added, as the other Skinjobs looked to Fox, with surprise, as Standish looked to Fox, with an angry look on his face, as suddenly, the Admiral drew his gun, and aimed it right at Fox's face.

Fox looked back to Standish with a look of shock.

"I am NOT a Cylon!" he protested. "The people who left Kobol were all human!" he stated.

"Then explain those blood results!" Standish shot back.

"He can't." Simon intejected. "But there's something else you should know." he added, as he leaned over to Cavil, and whispered something to him, as Cavil got up, and faced both men.

"Excuse us a moment." Cavil said, as Simon led him to a data table, with the other Skinjobs.

"We have a problem." Simon began, holding up the vial of blood for all to see. "These results should not be possible... like he said, the Thirteenth Tribe WAS entirely human, however, his blood is Cylon. And in a very specific way." he added, placing his hand into the water on the table, to call up the data, as all the Skinjobs absorbed it, and began to react...

"That's impossible!" one of the Sixes exclaimed, as her eyes opened, and she looked to the others.

"Agreed." one of the Eights added. "She's too far away for these results to be justified." the Eight stated.

"Nevertheless..." Simon began. "In order to confirm these results, we'll have to find her, and make a direct comparison... source from source. It appears we now both have a common goal." he said, looking to Cavil.

Cavil appeared to be thinking the prospect over in his mind, and finally nodded, deciding that Simon was right, and to give it a try, as he led the group in turning back to face Standish and Fox.

"Say, I hear you're looking for the Battlestar Galactica." Cavil called out. "Want some help?" he added, as Standish looked to him.

Interesting! If I understand this correctly, were there two groups of Thirteenth Tribe? Human AND Cylon...which left Kobol?

According to Baltard and the rebel Cylons, all of the "humans" found on earth 1.0 were Cylon.

Interesting twist with Cav-oleum asking if Standish wants to find BS-75. I'm just wondering where on the RDM time line this occurs in orbit over Caprica.
I really wanna see how these skin jobs react when the resurrection hub meets it's demise.

Even cooler it shall be to see to see how the Caprica skin jobs react when they discover that BS-75 exterminated their beloved "colony"

And what of the Centurian controlled base star that was given freedom at earth 2.0 ? Might their new self determined mission be to erradicate the nut case Cavils from the universe so that the cycle may be broken once and for all? Imagine them infecting all of Cavil's forces with the virus of freedom?

Keep 'em comming Bruce! :techman:

The current timeline is somewhere between mid and late season 3, in BSG. There have been flashes forward in time, like the one to Admiral Adama's speech, over Earth, and there will be more flashes forward to come, that will deal with Earth.

The original plan, was to have Standish nuke this Base Ship, as the Raptor brings him back to Urantia, but as I wrote the post, the events began to take a different direction, and it seems as this Basestar will end up taking on a sort of companion role, similar to that of BSG's rebel Basestar. How far the trust will go between the Urantia and the Cylons, remains to be seen.

Keep in mind, that Simon tested Captain Fox's blood, and determined that Fox was Cylon. Also remember that I featured the Eights in the post. There is a very specific reason that Cavil has, for helping Urantia track down the Galactica.

I think you will be VERY surprised by where this is all going. :)

*whistles* A lot has happened.... bu as always great Job!! But ONE thing... tell me STANDISH is not a toaster now... that would be unfortunate and well... plain wrong... LOL!!

CYLON BASESTAR

Admiral Standish glared at Cavil icily, as he very slowly lowered his gun from its aim at Captain Fox's head.

"You know where the frak Galactica is?" he asked.

"We might have some ideas." Cavil shot back. "In any case, our FTL can jump far greater distances than yours... you could shave months, maybe even a year, off your journey." he added.

Standish eyed Cavil, as the other Skinjobs and the four Centurions looked on, as if watching a standoff. Finally, Simon decided to break the silence.

"Look, truth is, this man's blood reads as Cylon, which shouldn't be possible... the Thirteenth Tribe was human. And there are only twelve of our kind... he's not one of us. As far as we know, there is only one other source of new Cylon blood in existance... and that source is on Galactica. We need to find her. Find her, and we can compare the blood from that source, with this man's sample, to see if they mean what I think they mean." he stated.

Commander McAllister and Admiral Standish eyed the Cylons for a long moment, before McAllister chimed in.

"What makes us think we can trust you?" he asked, as Cavil turned to face him.

"We haven't fired on you, have we?" Cavil stated, flatly.

"You launched an unprovoked nuclear holocaust against our Twelve Colonies... you exterminated almost the entire human race... destroyed our ships, our homes, and our lives!" Standish shot, growing angrier. "Even that wasn't frakking enough for you. You pursued us, into the vast unknown, kept attacking us, time after time." he added, glaring at Cavil. "Now you ask us to TRUST you? Frak you!" he spat.

"Fine... we're sorry." Cavil shot back, sarcastically. "What will it take to convince you of our sincerity, then?" he asked.

Standish and McAllister exchanged a quick look, as the Admiral again faced Cavil, serious.

"We let you come with us, to find Galactica. In exchange, you stop ALL hostile action against us. The second we detect a weapons lock on any of our ships, those giants from Omiron let fly, and remove you from this life. Second... you will outfit ALL the ships in our fleet with your FTL technology, BEFORE we begin our little quest. These conditions are not up for debate. You either accept, or you don't." Standish stated, firm.

Cavil glared at the Admiral, as he delivered his reply.

"I'll need a moment, to confer with my colleagues." he said.

Standish merely nodded, as Cavil and Simon joined the other Skinjobs around the data table, as the four Centurions moved closer to the humans, and took a defensive position, their metal feet clanking loudly on the floor, as the loud metallic buzzing of their scanners filled the room.

"We can't let them have our FTL's before the voyage begins." one of the Sixes began. "If we do, what's to stop Urantia from taking her fleet, and going after Galactica on her own?' she asked.

"Because Standish has no clue where the Galactica is." one of the Dorals stated.

"He's right.' a Leoben offered. "Standish has no choice, but to stick with us." he added.

"Nevertheless..." the lead Simon began, "I suggest we agree to all of Standish's terms... seeing as how we're without our Ressurrection Ship, I don't think we can risk suffering anymore losses to those Omiron warships... we know all too well the power they're capable of." he stated, looking to Cavil, for the final word.

Cavil looked to the table, as if deep in thought, pondering the words of the others, until he finally lifted his head, with an answer on his face, as he looked back to the human men.

"Fine." Cavil began, flatly, looking up to meet Standish's gaze. "We agree to your conditions. You'll get your new FTL's, and our little "partnership" will begin immediately thereafter. Agreed?" he asked.

Captain Fox and Commander McAllister looked to the Admiral, as he faced Cavil.

"Agreed." Standish replied.
