Milla Jovovich
(Hey, I hate Q, so I'm going forinstead of "right-for-the-part".)
Even as a joke, at least you could come up with a hot actress who is at least somewhat talented (so, no to Milla)
Q is a Human from a future in which Humanity destroyed itself and Earth due to it's alternate reality God like powers that went uncontrolled. Only Q knows what gave us the powers we weren't ready for and he is to see we avoid that and don't make the same mistakes twice. Spock and John Delancie or whoever together. If I think about it some more I can make it alot more complex. The first question Kirk would ask Q that Picard never did is 'What are you? Are you man or machine?' 'What is the source of your powers' to which Q would say 'Are you sure you want to know? You are.'
Jack Black.
I think Simon Baker could do quite well in the part.
Agreed, I was going to propose his name. I know we've seen too much of him as Doctor Who (well I say too much, I mean, barely enough. Well I say barely enough, ...) but I'm sure he can handle the sinister part just as well.David Tennant.
See the end of Family of Blood. He can definitely pull off the "I'm an infinitely powerful god, and you really don't want to get on my bad side" part of Q.Agreed, I was going to propose his name. None of the people mentioned come across as 'superior'.

I disagree. Tennant can and has pulled that off effortlessly as The Doctor.

Yes, but in a 'jokey', childish way. John De Lancie is an ADULT. We're just teenagers, or children, in his portrayal.
I can't see how Q would interact with Pine's Kirk.
It's even been stated that the Q weren't even interested in humanity until they'd reached the level seen in TNG. I don't think ST11's Kirk would register with him.

Funny... To me, Q always seemed like a teenager. Or, to be precise, a spoiled brat with powers. Not all that different from Trelane.
Yeah, he does treat humans as children, but that's it... he's like a spoiled 16-year old brat who mocks younger kids and thinks he's incredibly wise and important because hes 'all grown up'.![]()
