Now I know some celebrities are Trekkies, but they mostly like TOS!

So what I'm wondering is, are there any celebrities (who aren't Trek actors, of course) who don't just like TOS and nothing else, but like ALL Trek (or TNG at least)?

Like for example, I know Tom Hanks is a TOS fan, but is he a fan of TNG or any of the other shows?

Are you really asking that? It's like asking if there are celebrities who like Star Wars, Desperate Housewives, or the Anne of Green Gables movies. Of course, there are. They are like rest of us.

I'm fairly sure Robin Williams really dug TNG. I have heard that he wanted to do a guest starring role (I think they had intended to use him in the role eventually played by Matt Frewer). Not sure why it never came to pass.

Williams was actually cast I've heard, but unable to do it due to his commitments to Hook, which was shooting at about the same time.

I've heard Eddie Murphy during his act in Los Angeles four years ago say that he was a (TOS) trekkie.

From my observations, people who aren't trekkies, but do know of the show, only really know of TOS.

The other series are a mystery. They might have a vague idea who Worf is.

Nah, I've met people who were only aware of TNG and Voyager, but no awareness of Kirk and Spock....

I think a lot of it depends on when you were born. I know of a lot of young fans who might have grown up with the newer series and weren't very much aware of TOS at all. I think for the most part, older folks like myself are probably more partial to TOS and maybe TNG. Although I like them all, I'd have to say TOS and TNG are my faves.

freema agyeman that played martha on doctor who is a big trekkie and once went to a con (before she was famous) dressed as jadzia dax, which prompted SFX mag to shop her head onto a promo pic of dax and she actually looked good 'in the uniform'.

Patrick Stewart once said that Tom Hanks knows each TNG episode title in order.

I don't know if he qualifies as a "celebrity," but the King of Jordan is a trekkie and once appeared on TNG.

Perhaps he watches the show while his police are outside beating protesters in the street.

A lot of said celebrities were young enough to have seen TOS when it was first airing or in reruns. They probably were too busy being celebrities and acting to watch TNG+ as much.

Mila Kunis recently said TNG is her favourite, and she debates with Seth MacFarlane often on which series is the best.

She's young, smart and hot. I'd say this wins.

-Seth MacFarlane is evidently a fan of all the shows, as evidenced by his scripts, but his favorite show is TNG

I know Rosario Dawson has said that she loves Trek but I'm not sure which is her favorite, or if she's said that.

And I know I've heard Bryan Singer is a fan of Trek, and I think his favorite was either TOS or TNG. I'm pretty sure it was TNG.
