Well this was my first thought... what's more beautiful than home after 5 years?

That's really nice. I'm thinking, however, that there should be a few more lights, especially in western North America and Central and South America.

^^I wondered if anyone was going to mention that lol, I thought so too. I'll look into adding some more... the basic nightlights map I'm using is obviously 20C lol..

Hey Klaus, first beautiful image (make me have to rethink mine tho :)), but wouldn't the moon would have some lights on it as well. New Berlin Colony, etc.

Neat rendering, Klaus!

I think maybe a few more shadow effects on the Enterprise, and maybe some interior lights, might be a god touch. And how about the lights from Spacedock City, hanging distantly in orbit on Earth's night side?

I thought about orbital facilities, but I'm not sure they'd be visible at this distance... the city lights represent something a lot bigger than even Spacedock.

I'd suggest you cluster the lights on the moon a little more so they're not quite as spread out and sparse. As it stands it looks too similar to the star field to the point where it could be mistaken for a compositing error.
