Novels set in the Alien and Predator universe

I've been really getting back into Alien and Predator lately, and I've been hearing more and more about novels about both franchises, although you could say it's a shared franchise/universe.

Anyway, could anyone recommend some of the better novels from this universe?

For me personally, this setting has been ruined due to all the crappy recent movies.

Well, any advise is still welcome. I found a comic series called Fire and Stone, that spans all four aspects of the franchise (Prometheus, Alien, Predator and AvP) and it has some great rewiews on Amazon. But I'd love to read some good novels set in these universes.

I haven't read any Aliens novels in a while. I've heard that Tim Lebbon's trilogy, beginning with Out of the Shadows, is very good, and I'm very curious about the Rage War trilogy (which also involves Predators).

I read most of the Bantam novels in the 90s, and they were, with one or two exceptions, novelizations of the Dark Horse Comics series. They were okay.

I read some of the Dark Horse Aliens novels. Michael Jan Friedman's Original Sin was pretty good; it's a sequel to Alien Resurrection and it reads, basically, like a Firefly novel would have. It has that kind of plot.

Rage War sounds like it could be interesting, it's a crossover with Alien, Predator, and AvP. It sees the Yautja (Predators) and Humans joining forces to fight off a Xenomorph (Alien) invasion, after "someone" other than Weyland-Yutani has learned how to weaponize them.
