And they did, but someone nixed them at the last moment, leaving Playmates Toys with egg on its face.
But a MAJOR motion picture would still have popped for new wardrobe after the change. Star Trek films, with the exceptions of TMP and 09, were never major motion pictures.They did. Just watched TWOK here on Film4 and for me the death scene lost a bit of its power by noticing the extra who joins Mcoy and Scottie in rugby tackling Kirk away from the radiation filled door and then quietly wanders off so not to attract too much attention.
Or the turbo lift was broken. It would take much damage for the voice interface to get confused by Scotty's accent...
