I mean, I like the Atlan as Noonien idea. It seems obnoxious and in character haha.
I can see it but if Spiner says he isn't really Soong,then this is all wishfully thinking?
Is it possible there was something else behind the rebellion on Mars? Attributing the whole thing to a secret Romulan plot never made sense to me.
What rebellion? A bunch of machines went bad and killed people.
Soong's, wife, Lore and B4 all popped out of nowhere. "Nowhere" is filled with relatives of Trek characters we haven't met yet

The synths on Mars were incapable of rebellion on their own, since they weren't sentient. It took Romulan hacking to make them do it. It's as simple as that.

Noonien is one possibility, but what if he’s Lore? For all we know it was Lore who created B-4 as a failed “Backup 4”, before running into advanced Borg technology. Wouldn’t that be a worthy followup to the Season 1 conspiracy, assuming we can’t have a season where Picard gets bogged down in minutiae of peace negotiations somewhere, but also happens to meet interesting characters along the way?

Exactly. PIC is about Picard so that’s a constant, but everything else is quite malleable and open to departures from TNG, especially with Season 1 wound down to an epilogue.

Does no one else wonder about why there is a cat named Spot on Coppelius? Especially if one considers that no one else of the people affiliated with the planet but Maddox, most likely Noonian and maybe Lore knew about Data's cat...
I figured if they have sim Data in that...simulation, they probably interacted with him and got to know him petty well and built Spot after getting bored with the butterfly and space death flower projects.
