Nook Vs. Kindle?

As a Nook owner I can confirm that it does not.

Been very happy with it. Been putting PDF copies of user manuals for various items onto it in my spare time. Sometimes the results are less than ideal, but oftentimes the files are perfectly serviceable.

Kindle is great. Love it. No back-light bullshit. Easy on the eyes. Looks like paper, feels like paper to a degree. Awesome, simple, easy.

They're just the returned nooks, mostly 'cause grandma couldn't work it, or dad got an ipad the next day or whatever. If your nook breaks and it is still under the protection plan, those are the ones sent out as replacements.

Or they decided a Sony Reader PRS-650 was a much much nicer reader.

Good thing you can get books from your local library cuz the Sony bookstore is shit.

I played with the Sony reader that has touchscreen. It seems nice. Anyone have much experience with it?

I own a 650. The screen is the new Pearl. The touch is quite nice. Doesn't show fingerprints nearly as bad as most LCD touch screens. The UI is very smooth. Plus, the body is not some cheap plastic. I just think the build quality is better then most.

I am interested in getting an eReader. I have eliminated the various Kindles since I plan on using the library to obtain my books. I am looking at either the Nook or one of the Sony eReaders. My library (nypl) supports:

Sony Reader Daily Edition(PRS-900BC)
Sony Reader Daily Edition(PRS-950SC)
Sony Reader Pocket Edition(PRS-300SC) Sony Reader Pocket Edition(PRS-350SC)
Sony Reader PRS-505
Sony Reader PRS-700
Sony Reader Touch Edition(PRS-600BC)
Sony Reader Touch Edition(PRS-650BC)
Barnes & Noble NOOK Wi-Fi
Barnes & Noble NOOK3G+Wi-Fi
My main requirements is good e-ink, Wi-Fi access, and a price point in the neighborhood of the Nook. None of the Sony eReaders seem to have all these features (I think the 650 doesn't have Wi-Fi)

My other hesitation is the usual buyer's remorse. If I wait x amount of time a new version will come out. I can get a pre-owned Nook 3G Wi-Fi for $139.00 or just a new Nook Wi-Fi.

Does anyone have an opinion

If you want a Nook with 3G, there's a rumor on CNET and other sites that they may be on the verge of being discontinued. I've got one and I'm quite happy with it.

I just got a Nook 3G (got one of the previously owned ones off of B&N.com), and I love it. I spent hours downloading books the other day, and I played a game of Sudoku. The ePaper is so easy to read!

Nook sales are highest with the WiFi and the Color. I'd wager heavily the 3G's days are numbered and it'll be dropped in a couple of months and (perhaps) a 3G Color replacing it.

I ended up with the pre-owned Nook 3G + Wifi.
