Trek is rife with one-off characters, locations, etc. that are never seen again after they have fulfilled their purpose. This is intentional on the part of the producers because that is just how episodic storytelling works. But what are some of these dangling plot threads with potential that you have wondered about?

I was recently reminded that we never got to find out whether Alicia Travers's life got better after Archer's Enterprise restored the history of 20th century Earth in "Storm Front". To my knowledge, not even any tie-in (non-canon) novels have addressed this point.

Just watched 'Paradise syndrome', and it occurred to me that we don't see those villagers back after they stoned "Kirok" and Miramanee. Which made me curious how they reacted after discovering they were saved. Did they believe Kirok was sent by the gods after all?

I believe you mean *Vaadwaur there, but yes. Quite the pertinent dangling plot thread for galactic geopolitics.

The storyline in Enterprise with that woman on Risa who was up to no good. I think it was connected to the episode with Dean Stockwell but was dropped and never followed up.

When the Federation gets back to the DQ they will be surprised to find it’s now all the Vaadwaur Empire, and they’ll be like, “Oops...sorry.”

I'd like to see the Fabrini in the 24th century. I like to think they rebuilt their civilization on a new world and joined the Federation out of gratitude for the Enterprise's help in protecting their people. And also that at least a quarter of those generic human background extras are actually Fabrini because they're really big on careers in starfleet.

Also, I wonder about the various 'future invasions' hanging over the Federation's head. For instace, what happens when the Kelvans report back to their people? Or when might those creatures from Conspiracy return? Is there really any hope of the Founders actually accepting peace in the long-term or is the DW peace treaty really just a time-out?

    Well, did he?

Who is Space Commander José Dominguez? What about Starship Base Corinth IV? And where did Kirk get those prime Mexican reds? Mexico? On Earth?

Oh, so many questions … and so few answers.

Kirk was transporting Anthony Kiedis and Flea to a special gig at Jose's club on Cornith IV.

In case you're interested, Christopher Bennett's excellent Ex Machina deals with the Fabrini. Not in the 24th century mind you, it's set about 5 years later or so. But still, perhaps you'd find it interesting.

Just rewatched Schisms and wondered if these solanogen-based life forms ever tried to 'invade' our universe again (and what their motives actually were).

Then again, I'm actually glad there are so many 'dangling threads', they don't need to be all tied in for my tastes. Leaves something to wonder about and not everything needs to be connected with everything. I think it's one of the reasons I don't read (many) non-canon works.

The Solanae (that’s their official name) do appear again in the Titan novel, Sight Unseen. They also appear in Star Trek Online.

He held his water pretty well in The First Duty.

At least until Picard got to him.
