I don't think Rittenhouse Archives has made up character names before now. I wonder if these are behind-the-scenes names that Rittenhouse somehow found out about.

if there was something in their wardrobe tags, unused scenes or scripts i'd think an MA researcher would've happened on it before now. possibly these were chosen by the actresses or someone connected to the events where they do signings

right now i'm looking into a comic tie-in that might yield two new names for you. in Who Killed Captain Kirk, Garth of Izar's mercenary crew included Andorian Melchior and Tellarite Bendar -- and he had an Andorian and a Tellarite working for him in "Whom Gods Destroy" - so i'm trying to see if we can take the balance and resolve that he hired his former henchmen, from canon, and those are their names, from their comic appearance

I think that's unlikely. The idea in "Whom Gods Destroy" is that all of the Elba II inmates were cured at the end. The DC storyline established that Garth still went bad despite being sane, due to the way he was stuck in menial, unrewarding jobs after his cure. But it's a huge stretch that two of the other cured inmates also decided to go bad again. Especially since Garth only went rogue about a year before the story, so we're talking more than 15 years after "Whom Gods Destroy." The other cured inmates would've gone their separate ways long ago, making it even more unlikely that Garth would reunite with them.

On the contrary. If it had been Peter's intent, he would've established it overtly and called attention to it. He's rarely been prone to subtlety about his in-jokes.

Besides, admitting that the hypothesis only works in the absence of rationality is hardly a defense.

There are plenty of Andorians and Tellarites in the Federation. There are plenty of them in the DC Trek comic, and in many other tie-ins of the '70s and '80s when they were just about the only Federation species established besides humans and Vulcans. That's more than enough to explain the presence of an Andorian and a Tellarite in any given group of characters in a Trek tie-in of that era.

Just corrected a major mistake. The name Chitirih Ra-Dreii belongs to the apparently human science officer (Deltan in the novelization), not the Efrosian helmsman. I'll be wary of trusting the Chakoteya transcript site from now on.

They also say the novelization gives his first name as 'Ton'.

Or maybe it's the other way around. He was Tiburonian, after all, not human. So maybe he was supposed to be Ton Sevrin but the Encyclopedia authors misread it as Tom.

Tuskin's post says only that Memory Alpha claims that without giving a citation. Therefore, Alpha's claim could be in error. It could be that the name in the script was Dr. Ton Sevrin and the De Forest report was saying there was a real person named Dr. Thomas Sevrin, recommending a change because of the similarity. Maybe that's why the first name was dropped in the final episode.
