No thread, huh? Well here's one in case anyone's interested.

I won't be watching but I hope that Michael C. Hall, Walton Goggins and Michelle Forbes win in their respective categories. Which they won't, so why bother.

I don't know who Walton Goggins is, and I didn't even know Michelle Forbes was doing anything right now.

Walt Googins was on The Shield. Michelle Forbes was a main character in AMC's "The Killing."
Walt was excellent in The Shield (especially the final seasons), yet he is even better in Justified.

One of the few actors who has managed to leave his original TV identity behind him.

Rather like Brian Cranston managing to leave Malcolm In The Middle far, far in the past.

I have no idea who is even nominated this year, but I'd be pulling for Peter Dinklage for Game of Thrones, Forbes who (along with Brent Sexton as her husband) was just mesmerising at times in The Killing, and Kyle Chandler (who entered the pantheon of "Great TV Dad's" a few years ago) and should be celebrated for his work on Friday Night Lights

If any of the above win I'll be very very suprised. The Emmy's are even more conservative than The Oscars, so I never expect any unique or interesting choices (even if I think Brian Cranston is probably the best actor on TV right now)

Hugo - Where do I begin, my lords and ladies? I am a vile man, I confess it. My crimes and sins are beyond counting. I have lied and cheated, gambled and whored. I'm not particularly good at violence, but I'm good at convincing others to do violence for me. You want specifics, I suppose. When I was seven, I saw a servant girl bathing in the river. I stile her robe and she was forced to return to the castle naked and in tears. I closed my eyes, but I could still see her tits bouncing. When I was 10, I stuffed my uncle's boots with goat sh*t. When confronted with my crime, I blamed a squire. Poor boy was flogged, and I escaped justice. When I was 12 I milked my eel into a pot of turtle stew. I flogged the one-eyed snake, I skinned my sausage. I made the bald men cry into the turtle stew, which I believe my sister ate. At least I hope she did. I once brought a jackass and a honeycomb into a brothel....

There was a story earlier today on Deadline about how Alec Baldwin asked to have his entire appearance in the opening montage removed; Fox then brought in Leonard Nimoy to fill in the gap, so at least there will be something for the nerds in the audience.

Eh, it would be nice to see Peter Dinklage win for Game of Thrones, but other than that nothing is too terribly exciting to me.

I tend not to have much time or patience for awards shows these days. There are a few folks I check out later to see what they were wearing (like Christina Hendricks  ) but it's been so long since a show I actually watched was nominated for anything major I tend to ignore them. I will be curious to see if this year's In Memoriam includes Elisabeth Sladen (after all, the TV BAFTAs took time out to include Gary Coleman in theirs). That's pretty much where my interest starts and ends.

PS That said I did tune in in time to see Charlie Sheen actually behaving himself. And that weird beauty pageant thing with the Best Actress in a Comedy...

hmm..duplicate posts..guess I was so spot on even the forums here thought it should be said twice ;-)

I just came home to my GF watching them, right in time to see Friday Night Light's Jason Katims win for writing, so that was pretty cool. Clear eyes, full hearts, and all that :techman:. Other than that...hope we change the channel soon!

I just looked at TVLine's blog... the face that Laura Linney didn't win best comedic actress is a CROCK OF SHIT. Melissa McCarthy?

I saw Modern Family be 2011's Lord of the Rings: Return of the King that I lost interest. I know comedy is a lot better than that, but to have this award show not see it was pitiful, and no I haven't seen Modern Family. I have seen, however, most of it's fans are even saying it shouldn't have almost swept the comedy category.

Well Jason Katims for writing and Dinklage for Tyrion... Seems the Emmy's always pay their debts.

Yet, Scorcese for directing the pilot of Boardwalk Empire? The entire episode was made worthy by the art direction and Buscemi and little else. The pilot for The Killing was far suprerior in my opinion. True mood, style and atmosphere coupled with exceptional performances. Still Game of Thrones submitted the wrong episode so it's all moot ;)

Martin Scorcese is one of those nominations they give just because the guy is famous. That's what the Best Guest Actor and Actress Awards are usually for.

I usually don't care about award shows but I love the winners this years. Margo Martindale, Peter Dinklage, and Kyle Chandler. Each from my three favorite shows of the past year.

Well holy crap that is TWO out of my three picks (noted above).

Emmy, I am eating my words as I type!

Hugo - Clear eyes, full hearts, and Kyle can't lose!!!
