No ST12 in June 2012 please!

Abrams likes the story and has said so a number of times.

Orci uses "story" and "script" interchangably here. Abrams is waiting on a final script to decide whether to direct the movie or not (yeah, right). Abrams has said positive things about the story every time he's asked. Your assignment is to use Google and get back to us on what you learn.

Next.

If you don't want people questioning you, why don't you just go ahead and edit the quote to what you need it to say?

Time is not important. Abrams directing a Nolan-level film? Orci/Kurtzman writing a Nolan-level script? :guffaw:

Did they ever finish the script?
nope. still not done on may24th.they have a 78 page proposal. some of the actors involved think filming will begin at the end of the year. also, they still dont have a director. abrahms hasnt signed on yet.with all the effects shots that need to be done i just dont see how they can get this done in time for the release date. it kinda reminds me of all the b.s surrounding bryan singers man of steel. he had said filming was going to begin on such and such a date but no script had been written and then nothing after years of waiting.im having a bad feeling about this!

Do they call Batman Dark Man in Poland? If so, what do they call Dark Man, the character from those movies in the nineties?

No, it should be released by then. Any longer and it'll lose momentum. Why would they need more time anyway?

If it releases in late June 2012... it'll have been 38 months since the original film was released. Wait too much longer and they may lose any momentum generated from the original film.

I don't think they next Star Trek movie can make June 2012 deadline, perhaps August at the earliest (would be a rush job) I think you are looking at December 2012 at best, problem is screenplay is still in workings from what i've read last, for all the tweaks to be worked on and sorted would take better part of next 2-3 months, than finances need to be put together, another 3 months, than pre-production, sets to be built, cgi and all other stuff that you need for movie to be a success, another few months and shooting which can take up to 4 months, post production with last cgi touches...

Movie won't be ready before July 2012, unless it is a rush job. its 2011 now.

I honestly think it ends up releasing Memorial Day weekend 2013.

i think your right. i cant see it happening any sooner.

The Hobbit is shooting since March, too, and Part I will be released December 2012.

But most of that world is probably going to be realized through CGI, which means it has one hell of a long post-production in front of it.

Just so you know. . . JJ Abrams' "Super 8" started filming in September 2010. . . It comes out June 10, 2011. . .Star Trek 12 is already being prepped. . . http://trekmovie.com/2011/05/22/exc...e-outline-abrams-giving-writers-script-input/ . . . They have the major cast (and probably some of the minor characters) already under contract. . . the production company already has most of the Enterprise sets. The Narada sets were modular and can be repurposed. . .ILM has the Enterprise models in their computers. . .and can start any cgi that's needed from the "outline", and most special effects can be done simultaneous to filming (plus, JJ doesn't really do a lot of CGI, anyway, preferring to use old-fashioned techniques ie. force-perspective, using children as actors for distance shots and real locations as much as possible). . . so, quite frankly, this whole "The sky is falling!!1! Star-Trek-12-won't-be-done-on-time!!!!!!111!!11!1!" attitude just comes off as whinging at its worst. . .

I see it seems our predictions were right, (those who thought movie might be delayed), December 2012 seems most plausible, last movie was released was it November or December I forgot now, might be wrong though. May 2013 seems too far but I think that is possible too.

I think JJ would wants his next star trek film to be perfect so we might get final say closer to the release dates, could be May 2013 but I hope film comes out December 2012.

w.e the case I sure look forward to the next installment.:)

theres a big difference here. super 8 had a script . this film doesnt. they take time to write from an outline.
