No ST12 in June 2012 please!

Orci may not have to worry about Exit Strategy or Locke & Key - they weren't picked up - kinda too bad, they both sounded good especially the latter.

Of course Star Trek should be his priority.

If it releases in late June 2012... it'll have been 38 months since the original film was released. Wait too much longer and they may lose any momentum generated from the original film.

I agree with this. Four years for a sequel, especially a re-energized franchise like Star Trek is ill-advised.

Why don't they just say that the movie isn't going to be done on time? For months we've been hearing that the script is almost done, now we hear that it's just an outline? WTF?

I think there are a lot of assumptions being made without fact. It's good to guess about it, but ultimately, this is all just a rumour and everyone is getting worked up and trying to guess the process by which these guys have all worked together.

There have been longer spans than that. Certainly Dark Knight/Dark Knight Rises doesn't seem to be an issue.

This was pointed out and clarified already. An outline is done ON TOP of the script almost already being done (thus why they said they are waiting on J.J.'s input after Super 8 before they finish it.)

True but that film was the third-highest grossing film of all-time. The audience is a lot bigger than ST.
