No More Wrath of Khan Homages

The Overlord

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
I hope the next film doesn't have any Wrath of Khan homages, because it seems like the last 3 Star Trek movies had various homages to Wrath of Khan. I would like to see something a bit different for the next film.

I'm holding out for big alien probes.

(just to satisfy the dark supership quotient).

But no biological antagonist stealing scenes. More time for cast to talk. Especially Urban. He desperately needs more screen time :).

Give me some rock man goodness!

Gorignak! (However it's spelled).

Sorry, Overlord. For what it's worth, I mostly agree with you. The five year mission should bring us something fresh, but don't be too surprised when the next movie begins with "Captain's log.... Enterprise now approaching Ceti Alpha star system."

Here here!

Will the first original NuTrek film sequel stand up please?

<to the ever-watchful mods: this is a joke>

I want a NuTrek Borg film. Maybe have Uhura assimilated by the Borg and made Queen. Spock loses control of his emotions...again. The proceeds to go Captain Ahab on the Borg for stealing his love away. Kirk can then command the Enterprise in a space battle against a cube. Since the NuEnt's tactical feats only account for shooting down missiles.

I think they should introduce a new enemy in the next Star Trek. An enemy, from another quadrant, that rivals the Borg in terms of power, and perhaps an enemy that is capable of infiltrating the chains of command of both Starfleet and the Klingon Defense Force.

I guess I've been playing too much Star Trek Online :rommie:, but such an enemy could provide amazing action as well as advance the peace motif started in STiD. In Star Trek Online, despite being at war, the Federation and Klingon Empire has cooperated several times when facing large threats such as the Borg or Species 8472. This form of cooperation could even allow some exploration to be incorporated in the next movie, as the Enterprise and a sympathetic Klingon captain could work together to unravel a mystery in some alien ruin that may give them an edge over their common enemy.

.

There's the Dominion 70,000 lightyears away in the Gamma quadrant, though the Federation's side of the galaxy didn't make first contact until after Sisko discovered the wormhole in the prime universe in the TNG era. The shape-shifting changelings would certainly infiltrate Starflleet, Klingons and other Alpha and Beta quad powers. Though this would require the wormhole in the Bajoran sector being discovered a century earlier in nuTrek.

Parasite aliens?

The S1 TNG episode "Conspiracy" had parasite aliens who took over the bodies of high ranking Starfleet officers to subvert the Federation, a species whose identities and full motives were left unresolved after Picard and Riker defeated the aliens' infiltration of Starfleet. Perhaps in the Abramsverse the parasite species have an interest in the Federation a century earlier.

And then there were the Kelvin aliens in TOS who assumed human form that hijacked the Enterprise and sought to return to their native Andromeda galaxy, and were described as originally large tentacled aliens. The Kelvin aliens seemed to be advanced, and could certainly infiltrate the Federation since they can mimic human form.

The next one will be the Regurgitation of Spock, some Klingon relative of one of the soldiers killed in STID will come after Kirk and Starfleet with a prototype dark Klingon warship.

Talking about alien enemies, how about the third NuTrek film have those purple alien parasites as enemies (the aliens from TNG's Conspiracy)? Heck the action, emotion and story would write itself, while the ending would dutifully set up another sequel.

In the next movie, I demand:
- a scene where Spock falls into a murderous Tar Pit
- Uhura sold into slavery by 3 hilarous Ferengi (you know what that means; NAKED!!!)
- a new Q played by Jack Black.
- a prologue on re-imagined softporn Risa.
