Those clothes look uncomfortable as well. Which one of the actors wants to appear naked? Producers grant all wishes apparently. And why not, Discovery is all inclusive, why not include Nudists? They are people too who have been shunned for far too long. Wouldn’t that be progressive?

Good point. It would be Trek outfits unless someone had permanet physical damage.
Though, I think the uniforms look fine, their colors are in line with past Starfleet uniforms and they look more flattering than a lot of others.
Someone had to sit at Nilsson's station. The others have their own stations to sit at.
It gets weirder. Behind the scenes photos taken on set on the day of filming show her wearing red, meaning the blue was photoshopped in during post production. I'm guessing the intent was she was originally meant to stay on as XO, but during post production they went back on that decision. Which raises the question of who is XO now?
I guess they decided to leave that spot open for Saru when he comes back from Kaminar.

Keep in mind there should be 3 or 4 different bridge crews so they have different people covering each duty shift.
