Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist--Great Movie!

I saw this on Saturday and it’s definitely making my top 10 of 2008 list.

It’s funny, has good music, makes you want to have a night of partying in NYC and is really, genuinely sweet. The best part is the last third, which goes into Before Sunrise territory and crafts this neat romance between two people who wear “irony” and “sarcasm” on their sleeves. The thing is that the film removes all the cynicism from the meet-cute so you can’t help but cheer on N & N as they just chat and get to know each other or when they kiss for the first time.

This was produced by the Weitz Bros., who added such sincerity to American Pie, About A Boy and In Good Company. It's nice to see this instead of those crappy rom-coms where Dane Cook hits Jessica Alba in the face with a golf club.

Definitely go see it.

Seen the trailer looks very good and nice to see dude from Superbad back (no not McLovin or the fat one) :p

I saw it this weekend and really enjoyed it as well. Great, sincere performances and a simple but sweet story.

I will say though that as much as I love Michael Cera, and no matter how good he is at it, he's now played the exact same character in everything I've seen him in: Arrested Development, Superbad, Juno, and this. I'd like to see him try something else for once.

My friend and I were saying that they've had Michael Cera costumed in the same dark hoodie/skinny jeans outfit in Superbad and Juno, so it must be easy for wardrobe to deal with him. He does give the same performance but I like his line delivery that it hasn't gotten too old on me yet. Only he can sell lines like, "You don't have to yell, this is not a train station. It's a very small car."

And I think Kat Dennings is great. Gorgeous, very funny. A little bit Rose McGowen mixed with Drew Barrymore.

I love Michael Cera (Juno, Superbad, Arrested Development...all awesome), and I will definitely be seeing this movie. Maybe not in theaters, but I will see it eventually.

I had a free pass to this, Duchess and The Express: The Ernie Davis Story all on the same day. I was going to put them face down and choose one but my work day was so hectic(we had some out of town bigwigs coming in) our division stayed late for prep and I didn't see either of the three!!
:scream::scream::scream:

I will try to get to this one

I saw it and enjoyed it. I don't think you can really compare it to Before Sunrise though. It's more of a comedy and has a lot more going on. I prefer Before Sunrise though. :)

Just got back from seeing this. Great movie, well made, great cast and great music. It's been a decade since I've been in high-school but I still enjoy movies like these.

I could've done without all of the gross-out humor with the gum but overall this movie I really enjoyed. Thumbs-up, B+

I didn't know anything about this...but if this is a remake of/takeoff on The Thin Man, then it can't possibly be as good as the original. I can't tell from the earlier posts for sure, but some people seem to think this is related to THE Nick and Nora. As in, the only ones worth watching Nick and Nora.

Anyway, I hope this is something completely different and they just chose an unfortunate set of names for the characters. Because the only Nick and Nora Charles I will ever been interested in are played by William Powell and Myrna Loy. No one will EVER come close. Not in a million years. :p

Trying to remake The Thin Man is like trying to remake Casablanca or Gone With the Wind. Why try to improve on perfection? :confused:
