Nichols and Morrison roles confirmed

J.J. Abrams' Star Trek, a return to basics: Kirk, Spock, Enterprise, exploring strange new worlds and romancing green animal women. ;)

While I appreciate the "quickie photoshop" job, she's lovely and all but frankly not quite all there uptop for a classic orion slavegirl. At least based on the ENT versions. BOTH TOS versions we have to refer to were "recollections" (for the most part) and not what we saw in ENT.

Okay, shoot me now. I can't believe I'm supporting something from ENT. Dunno what I was thinking but I need to be put down NOW!

Recollections?

Yvonne Craig as Marta in "Whom Gods Destroy" was the real deal, one genuine green gal. Susan Olivier as Vina in "The Cage/The Menagerie", it is true played an Orion girl in a fantasy sequence... but Craig's real.

And, IMHO anyway, her makeup is a lot better than ENT's Orions. It's the only case a TOS alien has better makeup on TOS than on ENT, though. :)

This is all moot, I'll bet we're getting a third take on the Orion slave girl. ;)

I'm sorry, but the 4th season ENT Orion Girls practically save that entire show from disappearing into Trek history. they were hoooooooot.

They were revolting. That icky dark green makeup... yucks all round.

Now, "Whom Gods Destroy" got the shade of green just right. As did TrekMovie's photoshop. :)

Are you kidding, that garish Photoshop green is putrid! :p Another vote for ENT's hue.

Oh, come on. It was like they were coated in green puke! If puke were green...

The Photoshop green is the green you get when you eat radioactive waste and then puke it up.

Not that I've ever done that. Well, maybe a couple New Year's Eve's ago...memories still fuzzy...

Yuck...I hated how the makeup looked in WGD. It seemed really cheap looking (and not the cheap-look you want for an Orion Slave girl ;)).

Now the real question is...will Pine pronounce it Or-i-on or Or-E-on? :p

Irrelevant. Both are acceptable English language pronounciations of the name.

I preferred the makeup used on "Enterprise" to that used on TOS.

I saw "The Menagerie" in HD on a movie screen a few weeks ago, and Vina's face is clearly a different color and appears to be a completely different kind of makeup than that used on the rest of her body. Kind of jarring.

Just to clarify (and I should have said this earlier, 'tis true) I'm mainly only a fan of the "Whom Gods Destroy" makeup. Vina's has similar problems to ENT's.

They should be given some sort of forehead or nose, eg. they should be shown as a "forehead of the week" sort of alien just to irk the fans.

Seeing as the article says that Jennifer Morrison will be playing a pregnant Winona Kirk, does anyone else think that maybe that spy photo of Kirk in red was actually George Kirk? It's too poor quality to tell if it's actually Chris Pine, for all we know it could be the other guy.
